Casey and I got up at 6:15 and walked out the door at 6:45 to go vote! The polls were only a few blocks from us so we grabbed our scarves and hats for a crisp sunny morning walk to vote! It infuriates and deeply offends me that while I understand and respect my father's reasons for casting his vote, he dismisses my support for rights, intellectual progress, and social equality as naive, idealistic, and unimportant. I'm having a hard time with the idea that my dad, even though he hates social and religious extremism, is happy to support and vote for Romney simply because he wants to continue to vote for Republican economic plans. Less than a week after gay marriage is allowed in Iowa, they've legalized it in Vermont too! AND D.C. is voting to recognize out-of-state marriages in the city!
