Hello! I hope you all had as good a Tuesday as I did. List of goodness:
1) A student CAME to my office hours.
2) I laughed a lot in the TA office circle of non-productivity with Phil K, Joe R, Joe W, and Dan.
3) I attended my LAST Effective Teaching Seminar for my Certificate of University Teaching Skills! 20 hours of seminars later, I'm DONE. And the last one was the best one yet! It was on Small Group Strategies, and it was just like 2 hours of practical suggestions, strategies, examples, tips, and information that I can actually use in the classroom. YES!
4) I Rocked the class discussion today on The Copernican Revolution book. Julia, I may know NOTHING about modern astronomy, but I know tons of fun facts about Aristotle, Ptolemy, Copernicus, Galileo, Brahe, and Kepler. Huzzah! Did y'all know Tycho Brahe, in addition to being an amazing naked eye astronomer, wore a prosthetic nose made of silver? Because that super cool.
5) I parked at a meter in front of campus today, which I almost never do, and COMPLETELY forgot about it until 3 hours after my meter had already expired. However, I miraculously didn't get a ticket!!! That's amazing in St. Louis, where meter cops are usually stalking your meter time 24/7.
6) All of the campus's MILLION tulips have bloomed and are looking gorgeous and colorful. Tulips and Daffodils make me happy.
7) It was beautiful out today, and I got to bop around campus in my comfy new jean skirt I bought on sale 30% off with a gift card. Sweet Deal FTW!

I love this skirt because it has roomy pockets on the sides, and they magically don't look bulky when there's stuff in them either! The main thing I dislike about skirts/dresses is that I can't have a chapstick on my person at ALL time to feed my lip balm addiction. But in this one I carried a chapstick, a coral lipstick (that matches my shirt!), meter change (that I forgot to use) and my smart phone! Yay.
Coral is one of my FAVORITE colors to wear ever. Do you all have favorite colors in your wardrobe? Mine is certainly purple, which is the predominant color in my closet, but coral and turquoise are tied for a close second. When we shop together my sister doesn't let me buy clothes in any of these 3 colors anymore. Ha.
Today I wore pearly jewelry to match the little pearly buttons on my shirt. I love the iridescence of mother of pearl (or technically Nacre). And I also put my hair up in pearly hair clip I bought at King Soopers back in high school for my junior prom. Its been one of my favorite barrettes ever since, and I actually wore it on my wedding day too, so now I love it even more. Best few bucks spent at the grocery store EVER.
I was laughing a little bit in this picture cause the dog was staring at me like "what the heck are you doing?"
I love my Charlie!!!
