"Forgive the urgency, but hurry up and wait..."

Today, was not as productive as I'd hoped. That's been happening a lot lately. I may just bike myself over to the library tomorrow and refuse to be distracted by anything. Between the Daily Show, the internet, and too many good chats with Danielle, it's hard to want to read Postmodern theory. I did bike today to get the Lyotard book Luke had put in my box, and stopped by Walgreen's for stuff. Ah stuff! And what a gorgeous gorgeous crisp cool fall morning for a bike ride!

My favorite part of today was that WILL CALLED! And by Will, I mean James Bond. He called and we caught up and talked about grad school and linguistics and how much we hate Foucault and theory, (he's getting the same theory crap I'm getting but in his English Language and Linguistics program). I'm so very jealous of the History of the English Language class he's taking. I probably have read enough and written enough papers on the topic that I'd know most of what would be covered, but I wanna take a class like that! I'm sending him my OE and ME papers so he can see what little undergrad Amy had to say about linguistic development and he can tell me whether or not my ideas are off. We chatted about professors and undergrads (he's TAing) and crazy Missouri weather. (I just realized now that we never talked about dancing! Weird.) He's doing so well in grad school and just managing the work load and stress so well. I'm glad he's keeping his priorities in perspective.
I am so glad he called. I had forgotten what a genuine person he is, and how much I enjoy him. It's nice to know that even though he graduated after my sophomore year and only visited a few times since we can still chat on AIM or on the phone and that friendship and common interests are still there. *nostalgic*

It's good to keep in touch. I also sent a letter to Tricia this morning. I hope she gets it and that the mormons don't white out big chunks of the next letter she sends me again!

In other news, I really miss French, as a language. Maybe I should take it next semester.
