"Ken!" Jeb called as his sister bolted past. With a glance toward their father, Jeb shook his head and took off after Kenna. Wyatt didn't like the look on Jeb's face, and set the coffee mug down on the nearest table as he followed after the both of them.

Kenna was determined to get outside as fast as she could -- she needed to make her wish -- and nearly fell as she hurried down the stairs. After a not-so-graceful recovery, she reached the bottom of the staircase and ran for the door that led out into the garden, breezing past two of the guards patrolling the corridor.

"Kenna!" Jeb shouted as he reached the bottom of the stairs. Turning, he noticed the guards and nodded as they both pointed in the direction Kenna had gone. Wyatt was on Jeb's heels as both men reached the entryway to the garden. Wyatt pulled on Jeb's arm and shook his head.

"Jeb," he started as his son pulled away. "What's going on?" Jeb pulled open a hallway closet and made a face as he found an old blanket.

"She's looking for her star," Jeb sighed as he turned to face Wyatt. "First snowfall is her birthday." He frowned. "It was easier than telling her we didn't know when it was."

They had no way of keeping track of the days, living in the woods. Since it was snowing the night Kenna was born, Adora simply told the little girl that snow meant it was her birthday.

"On her birthday," Jeb continued, moving back to the doorway. "Ken gets to make a wish on her star." Wyatt nodded as they watched Kenna standing in the middle of the garden, staring straight up through the lightly falling flakes, clearly in search of something. "Mother told her the star was you. And, if she was very good... you and Ozma would try to make her wish come true."

Wyatt glanced down. "She's not gonna find it," Jeb whispered. Wyatt's head shot up and his brows tightened. "The star is only visible in the southern sky."
