Kenna watched, confused, as DG spread icing on the side of the cookie. DG glanced up for a moment and caught the little girl's expression, which made her smile. "Have you ever had gingerbread?" she asked nonchalantly.
Kenna looked up from the structure DG was creating and shook her head. She didn't actually know, but she'd never seen a cookie house, either. Of course, Kenna never expected to have the princess of the Outer Zone babysitting her...
DG smiled again and reached for another square of cookie, then broke off the corner. "Here," she said, holding out the small bit to her friend's daughter. Kenna leaned on one elbow and stretched her arm over to take the offered snack. DG watched as Kenna popped the bite into her mouth and made a face. "I don't usually make it that spicy," she admitted, making a face of her own. "But the spices are a little different here in the Zone."
"It's good," Kenna nodded.
DG smiled and broke a little more off the plank - she had plenty to finish off the house, after all. "Here," she repeated, slathering some frosting on before handing the cookie to Kenna. "Try it now."
