"Hey, there, Union Jack," Dugan called as he entered the room.
Without looking up from the file she was reading, Peggy replied: "I told you never to call me that, Timothy."
Dugan smirked and moved to the coffee pot in the corner. "And I told you never to call me 'Timothy'," he bellowed, before glancing over his shoulder to see her eyes had risen just enough to glare at him. "So I guess we're even," he added with a wink.
Peggy rolled her eyes and returned to the report.
"So, what's new in the world?" he asked, moving over to the desk and setting a fresh cup of coffee down in front of her.
Peggy's eyes never left the page as she reached for the steaming mug. "Nothing terribly exciting this morning, I'm afraid," she admitted, glancing up to give him an apologetic smile. Dugan made a face and stared at the window.
He wanted to see some action.
It took a moment for him to realize Peggy was watching him, smiling. "What?" he asked in a gruff tone.
Peggy's smile brightened before she shook her head and glanced down. "You're going crazy, aren't you?" she managed without laughing. "No one to play army with is making you crazy."
"I don't like you anymore," he mumbled, making a face.
"You're the one who wanted me to be more fun," Peggy reminded him, taking a sip of the coffee.
Dugan grumbled then made a face. "You still owe me a cigar, Union Jack."
Peggy leaned back in her chair and smiled behind the coffee cup.
