the bleeding heart wants blood to wash up the shame

So a lot of my f-list (okay, most recently, just introductory) is posting really neat little lists about their WiPs and stuff, and it looks so nice and organized that it's tempting me into trying it, even though, uh. I am the least organized person ever ( Read more... )

I FEEL WAY TOO EXCITED ABOUT ALL OF THOSE XMFC THINGS.

(Man, I got so pissed at Shaw for using La Vie en Rose in the movie. That's a great song >:( You don't get to claim it >:( )

Also, whenever I see people do the WIP posts I am vaguely jealous (in a grass is always greener sort of way) just because that is so not how my mind works at all. Either i'm in the middle of one story, or I have NOTHING. No other possibilities.

Man, I am SO JEALOUS of that ruthless focus. I am starry eyed! You kick that story's ass! YOU TAKE SOME NAMES. Baller!

The last time I worked on one project exclusively, it was this dystopian future thing and everything was conspiracies and torture scenes and resistance leaders dying and crapsack world, basically, and after two intensely prolific but increasingly paranoid months I called up my writing partner and wailed, I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE, I AM TAKING A BREAK, I AM PROBABLY TAKING A BREAK FOREVER, I AM GOING TO GO WRITE FLUFFY ANNIVERSARY PORN NOW AND BE ON A STRICT ANGST FREE SCHEDULE FOR THE NEXT THREE WEEKS.

I am a delicate flower?

and fdkjfdsjk, trying to hard to finish XMFC fic right now.

Hahaha, this is exactly what I mean! Is it ruthless focus or just completely inability to have more than one idea in my mind at once? WHO CAN SAY?

Oh hi! o/ There is nothing wrong with modern AUs, why do people keep dissing modern AUs. Everyone's a barista and nobody dies, it's awesome!

Also.

You wouldn't happen to have a link to that ANON ANON ANON thing if it exists somewhere, would you. *ahem* -A.

Everyone's a barista and nobody dies, it's awesome!

EXACTLY! And no one has to abandon anybody or put on a stupid helmet! It's fantastic! If I didn't come to fandom for fix it, I'd be trying to break into writing comics canon.

and AHAHAHA, oh, god, I'm trying to finish that TODAY, and either way I'll give you a link.

You know, I don't deny anybody their taste in what they care to write or read, so I can understand not liking modern or non-powered AUs or whatever - but goddamn, it confuses me how self-righteous people get about those.

Especially since I feel that, like, it's a cross-fandom staple, so it feels like such an ordinary thing? Like there's tons of Inception fic with Eames and Arthur meeting via normal jobs, and every fandom has coffee shop AUs, etc.

I don't know--for me, I hadn't ever encountered the anti normal person AU thing before in fandom, so it stands out as weird. And maybe it's because x-men is at the core about being different and always has been, yah di dah dah--but I feel like the movie alone doesn't convey that. But perhaps it does.

Overall, I've found XMFC fandom to be a really nice place! I may just be overlooking the wank, but it's treated me well so far.

Then again, my own boyfriend was all, "way to take away everything that makes Magneto cool," in response to hearing about our non powered modern AU plot. laaawl. \O/

I AM WILDLY EXCITED FOR ALL THESE THINGS. Especially all the XMFC ones. I really want to hear more about the PTSD one, why, hello h/c Charles/Eric, where have you been all my life? Oh, and the zombie Kane and Luca one, because that sounds AWESOME.

I feel like once I cut ties with my writing partner and her friends, no one reads Luca and Kane on IJ, but WHATEVER I LOVE THEM SO IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER. But seriously, Kane is made for outliving a zombie attack. There's this great (to me!) scene where he stumbles onto Luca in the middle of a bunch of zombies, sword swinging everywhere as he beheads a ton of them, scarf tied over his face so that he doesn't swallow blood spatter, and Kane is basically like ( ... )

Oh, that Luca and Kane zombie attack thing sounds seriously like the best thing ever, I want you to write it so bad! ZOMBIES! Being badass! I am flailing wildly fromt he awesome! Zombies make everything better, trufax. :)

OOOOOOOOH the PTSD one! Oh, I am loving it so far - so much - I do hope you can continue with it! What about it is sucking? Are you just not sure whast to do next? That flashback was completely chilling. I was squirming in my seat. (Holocaust stuff something of a trigger of mine, but even then.)

If you need anyone to bounce ideas off or workshop with, I am totally up for that, byt the way! I mean, I imagine you already have a beta/sriting type people to talk to, but just in case. :) Because I would LOVE to see it continue! We've had the hurt - or some of it - now we need the comfort, damnit!

Luca and Kane are MADE for zombie attack. Well, Kane is, anyway. And Luca, IDK, man, beefcake with a sword, who the hell even cares, as long as he's around.

"But I want a pike! And a shield! And an ARMY."(No one cares, Lebeau, no one cares. Pick up that sword. I don't care how impractical it is ( ... )
