Year end fitness challenge!

Dec 12, 2010 12:08

I went out for a run this morning in the Seattle rain, and realized that I, and probably many others, need fitness motivation between now and the end of the year. So here's the deal:

I will donate $2 to the American Diabetes Association for every mile that you or I run. And just so I'm not chintzy to the non-runners out there, I'll also give $2 ( Read more... )

I'm totally into this, but I don't really need motivation just to show up to the gym and do what I do every week. Can I do this on the condition that ONLY running gets credited?

Heh, treadmill estimate?

Well, it's not like other machines are going to estimate much better, so I'll put you down for $23 today.

I'd like to be in on this! I've got some more games of ultimate this week, but we can skip those since that's a regular activity. Weights is unusual enough that we totally need to count that!

Besides that, I definitely need the motivation to work out, especially when I'm traveling and freezing and don't have easy access to a gym or ultimate or anything.

Good idea, Zach!

I don't really mind counting regular activity. I'm having enough trouble motivating myself to do regular activity. :)

Okay, we'll just go with hours. Count me in for 3 between yesterday and today (pending 45 minutes of weights soon). :)

Thanks for doing this!

I just realized that may not be motivation enough for meee. Can we count 30 minute units? :)
