I went out for a run this morning in the Seattle rain, and realized that I, and probably many others, need fitness motivation between now and the end of the year. So here's the deal:
I will donate $2 to the
American Diabetes Association for every mile that you or I run. And just so I'm not chintzy to the non-runners out there, I'll also give $2 for every 100 calories burned in a fitness related activity. Or $2 for every 2 Weight Watchers activity points. Count it however you feel like.
Details:
- Respond either here or on the facebook note, I'll try to aggregate every few days.
- Offer started at 12:00am on 12/12/10, feel free to post anything from today.
- Offer ends at 9am PST on 12/31/10. I need time for a final tally and to make the donation. However, if you intend to do something later that day, post it anyways and I'll credit it.
- Offer has no dollar limit. Dollar amount was chosen based on what it would take to incentivize me to go run in the rain.
- Offer limited to my facebook and livejournal friends list.
- The charity was chosen as a reminder of one of the many reasons why I lost weight and why I try to stay fit.
