Back running again, yay. An ankle injury sidelined me for a bit, but I've recovered from that and I'm back up to running 5 miles. I'm going to be really conservative this time about mileage increases. I want a goal, though, so I'm shooting to run the Mercer Island Half Marathon in late March. That's a cool idea!

Let me know if you figure out how to make your heartrate number bigger on the forerunner. I can NEVER see mine while I'm running, it's so tiny.

You can make it one of the main data fields, then it will take up 1/4 of the screen. If you have 3 or 2 data fields showing it could be 1/2 the screen.

Go to ... (working from memory) menu/training options/displays/general (I haven't yet figure out how to set my Garmin in "running" mode so that it uses the setup I chose for runs, versus bike or swim).

It's menu/settings/general/"data fields". The HR alarms are in the training options. As for switching sports, I have no clue. In that same groups of settings, you can go to bike/"use this sport" and it will beep and change the icon on the bottom, but it doesn't seem to change the data fields for me.

I also got tired of the tiny HR, but remembered when I leafed through the manual that you could change it. Yes, I read manuals (well, mainly skim). I know it's weird. I kind of like to know what features my toys have. :)
