I've had a "skin condition" for years that seems to be a mild, atypical case of psoriasis.  (Atypical in that it is concentrated on my scalp and face.)  No treatment, whether prescribed, OTC, or alt has provided relief for more than a few hours.  Sunday I went swimming in the chlorinated pool at the hotel.  I just realized that the itchy, scaly, ( Read more... )

I've had the exact same experience. I have a very mild psoriasis, too, and have found that the pool can help. I've even been known to drop a cup of chlorine bleach in a bath during winter and have received some relief from it. Anecdotal evidence, sure, but that's all I've got to offer.

I haven't heard that, but I have heard brief exposure in a tanning bed can help.

Is it around your nose and mouth as well as the scalp? If so, it could be the same thing I have: peri-oral dermatitis. I'm currently on a 2-month course of antibiotics for it (doxycycline). Last time it flared up I had a 3-month round, but I'd been dealing with it for almost a year at that point.
