What is up with our society that people can't say what they mean or ask what they want to know anymore? We hide behind worries about offending, being politically correct, asking something taboo. Why can't people ask when they want to know something, rather than conjecture and gossip and wonder about the truth, so much that it becomes the truth,

Do you think that other people can?

I've started to invite total honesty whenever I can for reasons you posted. I think I can take it, all the criticism (and good stuff too). Can most people? I don't know. But at least it's something I can try to do for myself. Anything you want to tell me?

Oh, and we should get some coffee sometime when I'm not super-busy guy. ;)

See I think that if people were a little more open-minded, that the truth wouldn't be as bad. It may sting at times, but that makes us better people, and we learn from experiences like that. I know I'd like someone, not a stranger really, but a true friend to tell me if I'm being a dumbass or using my brain, or have a piece of lettuce in my teeth or my shoes look nice. Usually we just notice and laugh behind our hands or keep things like that to ourselves and that doesn't help the person. But, no. I think that right now, other people probably can't handle the truth. Many of them are too closed-minded to hear another point of view or opinion that doesn't match their own predetermined ones.

Coffee(aka hot cocoa or cider) sounds good, when I'm not a super-busy gal. :)

the key to happiness is absolute misanthropy. once you realise how shitty people are at the core, you never hope for anything from them. the bar is so low that they just can't disappoint.
