No, this wasn't written by a teenager. It was written by a grown, married woman. Arguably, that makes it even worse.

She also went to Brigham Young University.

But then again, so did a professor in my old school & advisor for our honor society, and he is brilliant. And awesome.

Then again, I seem to remember him being rather dismissive of his experience/education there.

But I wish, with Fitzpatrick especially, that we could get these women some help.

You know, I don't consider myself a feminist. I believe that to call yourself a member of a cause, you must understand it, and I cannot say I understand feminism. (It's far more than "you're a feminist if you believe in equal rights for women", regardless of what some might say.)

Even as a non-feminist, this chapter disgusts me.

Do I even want to think about the mental pathways you have to go down to consider this normal?

I concider myself a feminist, simply because I had the luck of having feminist college professors who explained what it really means and I found I think along that line of thought. It is because of Twilight, House of Night and now this, that I've coined the term "False Feminism".

I think it all boils down to that one, really. There are many different shades of feminism - more or less radical, focusing more on this or that, but it's all about equal rights and encouraging women to be more independent. There isn't one fixed-and-set-in-stone set of rules that defines a feminist - so the term might encompass people with very different approaches.

...Seriously? There are people out there who think this is romantic?

THAT WAS OUT AND PROUD SEXUAL HARASSMENT!

Now, granted, if memory serves correctly, Patch does mention somewhere in the book that he meddled with the coach's mind to make sure that Nora didn't get moved. But that still doesn't cover the fact that a) those lessons seem geared towards humiliating students for something that is definitely not biology and b) Patch is quite clearly enjoying the fact that he can harass her without any consequences...and this is meant to be a loving relationship, which frankly terrifies me.

...Dude, that makes me even more afraid of Patch now. There is just no way she can get away from him. O_O

It was unbelievable in "Twilight" when Mr. Banner pricked Mike's finger with a needle in class without asking or telling him first and made the class do blood samples without sending permission slips to their parents beforehand. You don't know how many people have said that he would have been fired or at least gotten into serious trouble for that.

How the *heck* does this guy still have a job after this disgusting excuse for a class? Teachers have been fired for much less than what Coach has done here.

I'm not surprised that Patch brainwashed him to make sure that Nora didn't get moved. But considering that this "lesson" was the teacher's idea, it seems that he's just another creep who likes to sexually harass girls. Good Lord.

This is bad and wrong on so many levels. It's just... words fail me. They really do. And this crap has 118 out of 179 5-star ratings on Amazon? D8

I encourage everyone, as soon as you get far enough into the spork, to write an actual review for this tripe then.

Amazon has a tendency to remove negative reviews, you know.
