I would really love to give Riddle and this little bitch the 'I Have No Mouth' treatment. Let's see how THEY like it, only instead of two hours, let's leave them like that until the sun becomes a red giant x(
I got too bored to finish reading the chapter, even with the aid of a wonderful sporking.
I admit that I can go rather long about some things, but it's usually when I get caught up in a whirl of character contemplation and they have some really crazy, inscrutable issues (I do horrible things to my characters). And I like to pretend that the whirlwind thought bubbles are at least marginally interesting, and it definitely contributes to characterization.
I have never in all my years dedicated -- what was it? Seventeen paragraphs? Probably more -- to having two people STARE AT EACH OTHER.
No matter how many of these stories I read, I will never understand why so many suethors think that giving their Girl Harry Sues mind reading powers is a good idea. Or why every single one of them seem to think that because they have that power, it's okay to just poke and prod around in people's minds without consent. No, it's worse than that, they think that they have the right to do that, and get pissed off when they can't get the information they want
( ... )
I really, really hate mind-reading Sues. It never makes any sense either! I mean, in Harry Potter there's Occlumency and the like, but that's not mind reading. And you're right, they just start poking around in everyone's heads, and of course they're good enough to get into Snape and Dumbledore's. Gah
( ... )
I hate it when they can get deep into Snape and Dumbledore's minds. Why is that supposed to make me like the character? It just annoys the hell out of me
( ... )
Okay, I'm kind of randomly re-reading the CoG sporkings, because I've got an acute case of insomnia, and I'd kind of forgotten how ANGRY this fic made me. So please don't mind me just... commenting on old stuff here and there. ^^;
Aaaagh the Sirius bit. What really gets me is that she keeps going between Holly's, Tom's, AND Sirius' PoV in a single scene! It's confusing, kills any semblance of suspense/mystery, and is just a hallmark of poor writing. :/
"Tom looked ready to say something nasty, but the female Slytherin beat him to it. "Diagon Alley, but just for a few days.""
Hmm, so, apparently, saying Diagon Alley is nasty nowadays?
The more I read of this stupid fic, the more I get the feeling that Lady Azar de Whatever simply does not think when she writes. Or ever, possibly, but that I do not know.
