I still think Patch brought Nora back wrong at the end of the last book. It'd explain why she suddenly became a borderline psycho girlfriend and got even MORE Too Dumb To Live. It wouldn't do if the girl he's been mind raping finally grew her spine back after DYING, after all. Then again, he'd probably -like- mind raping her back into submission. *Shudders*
Also, I think there are villains with more genuine, loving relationships than this. Even evil has loved ones and all.
Aren't those sorts of characters the ones who usually are fodder in slasher films? I have the sudden desire to write a crackfic novel in which Zoey, Bella, Nora, Vee, and Clary vacation at Camp Crystal Lake, or maybe Elm Street. Hell, I'd pay money to watch that movie.
We go back to the "hilarious" shenanigans of Scott, who is still trying to get Nora to kiss his pool cue (no, that's not a euphamism). You know, sometimes I wonder if these things are euphemisms, and we're really being trolled, hardcore. Either way, in this book, it seems like Fitzpatrick saw all the criticisms of Twilight and went "Pfft, I can make a series WAY more terrifying and annoying and rapey than that! Eat your heart out, Meyer!" Speaking of, I swear to Thor that everyone in this series huffs paint.
"Patch sliced his eyes into mine. 'Not anymore, Angel'"
Yeah, I'm catching up with it now that I'm making progress on CampNano and oh Jesus it's awful. I can't believe it got written, much less published. It's even more unedited than Twilight was. It's like it came directly from the author's brain onto the page without any sort of filter or editing process whatsoever, not even a "gee, I wonder if I accidentally a word here".
So yeah, tack Ms. Steele onto the list. I still can't get over that stupid name; and what's worse every time I think of it I picture Anne Steele, one of my favorite supporting ladies from Buffy Angel.
/What is up with YA couples where the guy is constantly belittling and insulting the girl? It's not cute and it's not endearing! What, are couples that have respect for each other somehow out of vogue

I'm glad. I think a lot about relationships and since I want to be a YA romance novelist, I try really hard to think why a reader would think they will stand the test of time. I really want to write INTELLIGENT books, so everyone can accept the couple.
"stalking as a convenient excuse to play poker" Stalking as an excuse STALKING as an excuse STALKING AS AN EXCUSE Dude I love this book "In other words, she just implied that it was wrong or stupid of Patch to try to keep Marcie safe. After Marcie had already been hospitalized for a knife wound." Omg Nora is such a sweetheart ^^ <33333 She's just like the average girl <33 SO relatable xoxoxo

We should totally come up with a list of such villains and their canons.

I think you said it beautifully. And I really want to read your novel, BTW. :)
