This hasn't been one of his finer moments, but then Raven certainly didn't expect to catch an angry Zora either. Lesson duly noted, he supposes

He dimly hears the footsteps, though he doesn't recognize them as such. To him, it's just more pounding in his head. Still, he's starting to get the feeling something's looking at him.
A voice. A woman's voice. He turns towards the sound.
"Oh, hello, Miss. I'm fine. I just needed to catch my breath." He sees her muddy skirt and can't help asking. "Are you all right?"
Weeds? Ah, so she's been gardening. That explains the mud on her skirt.
He laughs. "They certainly are! I've had my share of battles with them, too.
"I was fishing in the river, since that's where the strong fish live." He sighs and smiles at the next part. "It broke because I caught something a bit too big with it. I'll just have to get a replacement when I get back to Lynna Village."
He takes her hand and shakes it, giving her a smile and a friendly nod. "Pleasure to meet you, Marin. My name is Raven."
Bring on the kitten welcome wagon!hero_of_meowJune 14 2009, 05:01:51 UTC
[Incoming!]
[There's a rather small Hero - no, smaller - about ankle height, yeah - coming your way, Raven. Closer and closer and closer, and -]
Mew?
[If you care to look down, Raven, you'll see a small orange kitten in a green hooded poncho-thing (it even has a teeny tiny Master Sword on its back!) resting its front paws on your boot and looking up.]
"You're a friendly little thing, aren't you?" Since the kitten seems to be enjoying this, he keeps petting it.
At the same time... "What am I going to do with you? I don't have anything for you to eat." He supposes he can take it back to the village with him and see if someone will care for it there.
Wandering was something that many of the residents here did, simply because there was nothing better to do... Or they were searching for something that cannot be found in this strange yet familiar landscape. When he catches wind of an angry Zora, it piques his interest enough to go investigate.
Casting Farore's Wind, he warps himself into a tree near the river and takes a moment to look around. The Hero doesn't notice the knight sitting at it's base until he hears the sound of quiet breathing (why was that? His hearing was never this strange back home)
A quick grin at the sight of a familiar face before he laughs. "And another encounter with the Poe, o knight?"
"Oh~? So you were the one that caused the ruckus."
Still up in the tree, cloak drawn around himself, he watches the other momentarily before dropping down. Landing lightly in front of Raven was another Link, dressed a bit differently and shorter than the usual Heroes he gives the other a quick once over.
"I haven't seen or heard from you for a while now, sir knight. Whatever have you been doing this whole time, other than irritating the stray Zora?"
"I wouldn't say that. I was on the receiving end of that ruckus, not the cause." He doesn't begrudge the Zora at all, however; that must have been quite the shock for it.
He gives the stranger a once-over as well. No, it's no one he knows; he's sure of it.
"I'm afraid you must have mistaken me for someone else, my friend. I don't believe we've met."
(ooc: Sorry! Meant to tag sooner but the weekend was a bit hectic.)
[Din is half-walking, half-dancing, as she usually does. She wandered into the old Zora city for a little while, earlier, and is now following the river out again, thinking of what a dazzlingly pretty place it is.]
[Oh, look, another Link. Only not quite, and she makes her way toward him in curiosity. No, maybe it's not...he looks like one, though. In fact, he looks a lot like a grown-up version of the Link she knew in Holodrum. Curiosity very much aroused now, she makes her way toward him. If somehow this is 'her' Link, all grown up, then he'll almost certainly know her at once.]
(ooc: It's all right. I don't mind late tags. :) )
He turns towards the voice. He isn't sure who this woman is, but for some reason he can't quite put words to, she reminds him of Nayru -- or at least the Nayru he met after Link forced Veran out of her.
He holds up a hand in welcome and smiles. "I'm all right. I just had a bit of trouble trying to fish." And he has a headache, but he sees no point in mentioning that.
[She nears him, studying him carefully. Definitely much like a grownup Link.]
There's some rather excellent fishing to be had back this way, if you're interested. At least, I've heard that there is; I don't do much fishing myself. But I did see the fish in the water, so I suppose there's got to be a little truth to the rumor.

"Well, hello, little guy. What are you doing so far from the village? Are you lost?" He knows the cat can't answer him.
It's an odd little thing, he thinks as he reaches down to pat its head. Who would put clothes on a kitten?
Reply
[He's quite enjoying the patting, really, headbutting Raven's fingers gently for more, purring softly.]
[Hup! Now it's on Raven's boot proper, heading up his leg to sit on his knee, looking up quizzically.]
[More pettings?]

He can't just leave the little thing here.

"I've seen no Poes for a long time, stranger, unless Poes take the form of angry Zoras."

If she seems to know the area, then there's no harm in asking.
"If I may... I seem to have gotten myself a bit turned around. Do you know the way to Lynna Village?"
