Just a bit of a headache.

This hasn't been one of his finer moments, but then Raven certainly didn't expect to catch an angry Zora either. Lesson duly noted, he supposes ( Read more... )

Wandering was something that many of the residents here did, simply because there was nothing better to do... Or they were searching for something that cannot be found in this strange yet familiar landscape. When he catches wind of an angry Zora, it piques his interest enough to go investigate.

Casting Farore's Wind, he warps himself into a tree near the river and takes a moment to look around. The Hero doesn't notice the knight sitting at it's base until he hears the sound of quiet breathing (why was that? His hearing was never this strange back home)

A quick grin at the sight of a familiar face before he laughs. "And another encounter with the Poe, o knight?"

The voice catches him a bit off guard; someone's in the tree? Raven steps away from the trunk and looks upward, trying to find the person speaking.

"I've seen no Poes for a long time, stranger, unless Poes take the form of angry Zoras."

"Oh~? So you were the one that caused the ruckus."

Still up in the tree, cloak drawn around himself, he watches the other momentarily before dropping down. Landing lightly in front of Raven was another Link, dressed a bit differently and shorter than the usual Heroes he gives the other a quick once over.

"I haven't seen or heard from you for a while now, sir knight. Whatever have you been doing this whole time, other than irritating the stray Zora?"

"I wouldn't say that. I was on the receiving end of that ruckus, not the cause." He doesn't begrudge the Zora at all, however; that must have been quite the shock for it.

He gives the stranger a once-over as well. No, it's no one he knows; he's sure of it.

"I'm afraid you must have mistaken me for someone else, my friend. I don't believe we've met."

Laughing at the knight's first reply he just shrugs. It was Raven who had accidentally caught the Zora, invoking it's wrath; as far as he was concerned, that meant that the knight was the cause...

But he'd just about given up any chance of banter so he moves along. There's a grin at the once over before he quirks an eyebrow.

"Oh? So the knight has finally earned a double. I was beginning to think that you were forgotten in history..."

"A double...? What are you talking about?"

He crosses his arms and gives the stranger a confused look. "Would it matter whether or not history forgets me? As long as the future is a peaceful place, it doesn't matter. I've never done anything trying to get my name in a history book."

Another long stare before he smiles.

"You'll have to grow used to this idea of 'doubles', bird. There are many Heroes wandering this realm, along with their shadows and the Sheikah. I'm a bit surprised you didn't appear sooner, o knight." He raises one hand to tap his chin in thought before shrugging. "I suppose I should say you've managed to slip detection for so long..."

... One day, Keane will learn to give straight answers. Sadly, today is not that day.

"Perhaps I will. First, however, I would like to know what you mean by the word "double". My name is Raven, not 'bird'." He shifts his weight, as if fidgeting, but it's merely an excuse to move his hand to the hilt of his sword.

Raven doesn't like vagaries of any form.

"Whose detection might I be evading? Will you at least tell me that much?"

"Exactly what it sounds like, o knight." Names are a bit too personal for his tastes. While he doesn't want to insult the other, his intentions never quite make it between his head and the words that are said. "That there is more than one of you roaming this strange land of Hyrule, though it appears that the other has long disappeared from this realm."

If he noticed Raven's movements, he makes no indication of it.

"Why, this land of course!" A large sweeping motion over the field before he turns back to Raven. "Despite it's appearance, you are far from home, sir knight."

"How can there be two of the same person? That doesn't seem possible." The land must be strange indeed if this is happening. At the same time... perhaps this is a strange dream? He can't entirely rule that possibility out.

"I'm well aware that I am far from 'home'. This is not Labrynna." No part he's ever seen, at least, and he's certain he'd remember a field like this. "What purpose would a land have in tracking people?"

A shrug is all he gets in reply. There's no possible explanation that he could offer, even in his strange convoluted methods. If the gods here had a plan, he definitely hasn't heard of any of them.

"Not tracking. Simply keeping them here, in this Hyrule."

"Keeping them here," he repeats, and then he shakes his head. "Do you know why? I have things I must do back in Labrynna. My work isn't finished."
