This hasn't been one of his finer moments, but then Raven certainly didn't expect to catch an angry Zora either. Lesson duly noted, he supposes

(ooc: Sorry! Meant to tag sooner but the weekend was a bit hectic.)
[Din is half-walking, half-dancing, as she usually does. She wandered into the old Zora city for a little while, earlier, and is now following the river out again, thinking of what a dazzlingly pretty place it is.]
[Oh, look, another Link. Only not quite, and she makes her way toward him in curiosity. No, maybe it's not...he looks like one, though. In fact, he looks a lot like a grown-up version of the Link she knew in Holodrum. Curiosity very much aroused now, she makes her way toward him. If somehow this is 'her' Link, all grown up, then he'll almost certainly know her at once.]
(ooc: It's all right. I don't mind late tags. :) )
He turns towards the voice. He isn't sure who this woman is, but for some reason he can't quite put words to, she reminds him of Nayru -- or at least the Nayru he met after Link forced Veran out of her.
He holds up a hand in welcome and smiles. "I'm all right. I just had a bit of trouble trying to fish." And he has a headache, but he sees no point in mentioning that.
[She nears him, studying him carefully. Definitely much like a grownup Link.]
There's some rather excellent fishing to be had back this way, if you're interested. At least, I've heard that there is; I don't do much fishing myself. But I did see the fish in the water, so I suppose there's got to be a little truth to the rumor.
Lynna Village? If there is such a place around here, I've never seen it. The only settlements I've ever heard given names are Kakariko Village, which is up those stairs there, and Castle Town, which is inside those stone walls over that way.
[Were Raven addressing Din's Labrynnian counterpart, she would of course have recognized the name. But he's unfortunately stumbled across the wrong Oracle.]
Kakariko is a familiar name, though not in the way he'd like. Those are both names of places in Hyrule, not Labrynna.
He sighs a little. "So it seems I'm not in Labrynna anymore." So how exactly did he get here? He doesn't mind being in Hyrule -- even if this doesn't quite feel like home to him -- but he has still business in Labrynna, business he won't ignore.
"I'm going to assume that there's no point in asking how to get to Labrynna from here." He wishes he knew how he got here. Things would make much more sense if he at least knew that.
Unfortunately, no. You're in Hyrule, and you're more or less stuck here, same as the rest of us. There's some kind of magic going on around here that's pulling people in from all over the place and not letting them leave.
[Trying to be more positive, Din adds:] But if it's any consolation, you've run into one of the only people in this Hyrule who's heard of Labrynna. I'm from Holodrum, myself -- our countries are neighbors. My name's Din.
"So we're trapped then?" He narrows his eyes slightly. Magic designed to trap people must have a source, so he needs to track down the caster. "We'll just have to find a way out."
He shakes his head slightly, looking around again. "I've heard the name Holodrum mentioned in passing, but I know little else." Besides, he had other concerns at the time.
"It's an honor to make your acquaintance, Din," he says, giving her a slight bow. "I am Raven."
I don't know if anyone's found a way out yet, and I've met a few people who've been here for more than a couple of months. But I wish you luck in your efforts. Can I be of any help to you? Show you where to find anything?
He looks at the walls in the distance and then up the nearby stairs. "I don't know much about this land. I'll need food and water and a place to sleep, if you know where to find any of those. I'm afraid I don't have much money, but I'm willing to work in exchange."
Well, you're in luck. Money doesn't serve much purpose around here.
[Din smiles.]
If you head into Castle Town, there, you'll find a small marketplace full of abandoned shops. Weirdest thing I've ever seen, but you can help yourself to whatever you find. The stock just keeps replenishing itself. Food, clothing, anything you need is there. There's plenty of abandoned buildings too, you can take up residence in one.
[She points across the field at the fence surrounding Lon Lon Ranch.]
There's a ranch over there, that's where I've been staying.
That explanation doesn't make sense. "So... in this strange place, you merely help yourself to what you need with no need to pay for it in any way." That thought doesn't sit well with him. "How is that any different from stealing? There may not be a shopkeeper, but that doesn't make it free for the taking."
He looks out at the stone walls in the distance. "I know my way around a ranch, so I can offer my assistance in exchange for a place to stay."
I was trying to make sense of it myself. But anything you take? It replaces itself. This country apparently runs on magic, and the one nice thing it does for everyone is to make sure that we all have what we need to survive.
[She nods at the offer.]
Not much work to do there, but you'd be welcome to stay as far as I know. I don't think anyone lives in the house at the ranch; I sleep in the barn, myself. I'm kind of claustrophobic, so sleeping in the barn is as close as I can get to sleeping outside without exposing myself to the things that wander around after dark.

"Runs on magic..." That thought unnerves him, though he isn't quite certain why. Perhaps it's the vague implication that something -- or someone -- is caring for them. "I see."
He shakes his head slightly, just enough to make his hair sway. "I'd feel almost like I was taking advantage of the situation if I didn't repay you somehow."
Sleeping in a barn as opposed to sleeping outside; there must be a reason for that. "Is this place that dangerous after nightfall?"
No apology necessary!dancingseasonsJuly 1 2009, 14:08:54 UTC
It can be. There are things -- I'm told they're called Stalchildren -- that wander around after nightfall. Animated skeletons, basically. I don't think they'd be that hard to defeat, but given that I'm not the sort who carries weapons, I'd rather stay inside the barn.
[She smiles sweetly.]
You don't need to repay me for anything, you know. It's not as if it's my ranch or anything like that. It's very thoughtful of you all the same, though.

You seem very weary. Are you all right?

If she seems to know the area, then there's no harm in asking.
"If I may... I seem to have gotten myself a bit turned around. Do you know the way to Lynna Village?"
