[He can see it now... His mind doesn't recognize the form -- though deep in his mind, the Fierce Deity chuckles -- but he does see the sword. His prey is armed; he'll have to be careful.

[All right, you bastard, how 'bout you do somethin' now?

[Why should I interfere? If nothing else, this is the one person in this place he is unable to permanently injure. Shouldn't you be willing to accept this?

[No way! Take control and make him stop already!

[Link creeps a little closer, moving very slowly. His cloak hangs down to the ground, covering his gear and muffling the sounds of it shifting. Just a little closer, and he can lunge...]

[He moves a little closer, scowling when his prey does the same. So... it knows he's here. Then he doesn't have long, and he isn't about to waste what could be his only chance.

[He shifts his weight up onto the balls of his feet, and then he grits his teeth and lunges forward. The sound of the jump and that of his sword sliding free of its sheath are the only sounds he makes as he flies forward and lashes out with his blade.]

[Something feels...wrong.

The blind hero does not know exactly why this feeling is so prominent. When you can't see, you tend to always be on guard, but this felt like more than being 'on guard'. He could have described this as near paranoia.

Either way, his left hand falls automatically to the hilt of the silver sword at his back. His right hand clenches. He couldn't hear anything, but...]

How strange.

[Blue/red eyes flicker uselessly at the surrounding grassland.] I ought to relax... This kind of worry is just stressful.

[But something still feels wrong.]

[He hears the voice and grins broadly, creeping slowly closer. The voice makes it so much easier; he can just follow the sound.

[No, you idiot! Stop talkin'! Run!

[Zora, be silent.

[He continues to ignore the voices in his head, focusing on the voice. He's getting closer, his gear shifting slightly on his back as he lowers himself closer to the ground.

[Just a bit closer...]

[As the hunter can follow the sound of the blind hero's voice, said hero can now hear, though faintly, the soft sounds of the gear, and the crunching of grass. His ears are more sensitive than a regular Hylian's, in lieu of his lack of sight.

His right hand twitches, a small, blue flare sparking from it.]

I'm not alone here, am I? [He isn't afraid of whatever he is being hunted by.]

[No, you're not. Now do the sane thing and get outta here already!

[Yes, Link thinks, keep talking. That makes it easier to stalk... He chuckles lowly to himself and gets even closer. This is almost too easy, really, not that he cares about that.

[He reaches back and slowly draws his blade.]

[How long has it been since Devi has had to raise her magic and her shields against an opponent? A day, a night, another day again. The sky begins to give way to night again as she prowls the edges of the field, too restless to sleep but feeling the strain in her body nonetheless. She hasn't slept since arriving in this reality.]

(OOC: Hope you don't mind if I throw another one your way.)

[The sound of footsteps is nice and rhythmic and not too fast. He moves a little closer, close enough he can just make out the figure walking nearby.

[He grins to himself and stalks even closer, ducking lower to the ground. Just a bit more, and he'll be close enough...]

[ooc: No problem at all. <3]

[She goes still when a familiar fissure works its way up her spine, a prickling at the back of her neck that warns her that all is not well. There were those in the tournaments that preferred to attack by stealth, in realities where she found herself not immediately facing her enemy. This feeling is like that.]

[And she has learned to wait for the opponent to reveal himself, gathering her reserves of power.]

[He's almost there now. He pauses long enough to reach back and slide his sword free of its sheath before continuing towards her. And then, when he decides he's finally close enough to lunge, he rocks his weight onto the balls of his feet, readies his blade, and charges at her from the side.]

[There's a Sheik in this corner of the field today - gathering Deku nuts to replenish his depleted stock. (Using them for target practise may not have been the best idea.) Kicking apart a bush and pulling the nut from its roots, he suddenly stops, straightening.]

[There's something moving out there. Automatically, he tenses, reaching out with the shadows - then relaxes. It's one of the Heroes, one he's met before.]

[Straightening up, he calls out,] Link, is that you?

[Aw, man... Are you gonna stop him or not?

[I've already said to let him hunt.

[Link hears the voice but doesn't understand it as anything more than a sound. He uses the sound as a guide to stalk closer, staying low and moving slowly.]

[There's no reply - curious. Red eyes scan the field, spotting a flash of movement.]

[The Link he had met at Kakariko and later within a dream, then. But in that case, why was he not responding?]

[A little more cautiously:] Link?

((OOC: Would I be right (or nearish, anyway) in guessing they're somewhere around the Southeast corner, sort of between the lake and the forest? Has lots of trees and a really friggin' annoying Poe? Or closer to the lake? ...Or somewhere else entirely? XD))

[That sound makes his scowl. It's familiar, somehow... something important. But it's not important enough to make him stop, at least not yet, so he keeps creeping slowly closer.]

[ooc: That's fine with me. :3 That's about where I was picturing him at anyway.]

[Perched on a rock off to the side is a Sheikah examining the back of his hand. He sets a soiled bandage off to the side and prods carefully around a healing cut for a few moments before shaking his head and binding it with fresh wraps. A bothersome place to have an injury, but it's not infected.]

[That done, he picks up the dirk sitting beside him and has just begun cleaning off the remnants of today's excitement with the dirty bandage when the scars on his back twinge. Something is here, something that does not want to be noticed.]

[He shifts his grip on the dirk and continues to clean.]

[Is that blood he smells? It's hard to tell; it's faint, and the breeze isn't strong either. It doesn't matter. Whatever it is not far away doesn't have to be bleeding right now, because it will when he's done.

[For now, though, he's too far away, so he creeps closer, keeping a watchful eye on the figure once it comes into view. It doesn't seem to see him, but that doesn't mean it won't.]

[He finishes wiping off the last bits of bloody fur from his blade, but doesn't put it away. Instead he flips the bandage over to a cleaner patch on the pretense of giving the dirk a final rubdown.]

[Yes, something is hiding, and the feeling in his scar tells him it's not from being bashful. Everything in front is open field, so that leaves one option. He lifts the dirk to examine the gleaming metal in the sun, and it's reflective surface catches a tiny movement behind him.]

[This was not his day. He flicks his wrist and lets a throwing knife slide from his guard to his palm. Now it's just a waiting game.]

[He reaches back and eases his blade from its sheath. He doesn't see any sign of resistance, so... He gathers himself and charges, swinging his blade at the figure he sees before him.

[Damn it, stop! Don't!]
