Just today I realized, how closed minded people can really be. I mean, sure everybody hears about discrimination and how it effects the free world today, but when you hear bashing of a certain race/type in person, it's shocking. Sure, I've been judged against in the past because I am a Muslim, but I cannont stand it when people just talk about ( Read more... )

dear lord, i mean, seriously. i don't see why you must be offended by other people's thoughts and opinions. are you not allowed to have any? sure, that girl's thoughts may have been outlandish, but hey, that just might be the way she was raised and taught. I'm sure she's thinking the same thing about you that you are thinking about her.

Let everyone else believe what they want to believe, as long as you retain your thoughts yourself. YOU AREN'T GOING TO CHANGE THEIR THOUGHTS! THEY AREN'T GOING TO CHANGE YOUR THOUGHTS! WHY DON'T YOU JUST ACT LIKE GOOD CHILDREN AND CHANGE THE FRIGGIN' SUBJECT!!!!

You people at northview never know when to let things go apparantly. Just because your thoughts differ, it does not call for an all-out war.

If you are offended by what they say, merely tell them just that and change the subject. I suggest they do the same to you, or else you are going to have a long future laying ahead of you in high school, and in life.

I never did try to change what they believe; nor did their beliefs offend me. I was just disgusted by how closed minded people can be. What had started out as a general discussion turned into a gay-bashing fest on their part, with them going on to bash what I believe, this is what I was just a bit pissed off about.

"...& by the way; things werent different at chattahoochee argument-wise then they are now at northview"

Well then, i find myself a bit worried for you guys. Things were the same back then because we were naive freshmen with nothing better to do than bicker and act like everyday is a goddam soap opera. Now we're two years older and we should act it. Maybe your school switch with nearly no upper classmen has not allowed you to socially excel to a higher level where arguments are not as important anymore. I should hope this is not the case.

I know some of the same stuff still goes on in chattahoochee, but that is mainly with underclassmen. The reason the upperclassmen aren't in these petty squabbles is because they choose not to be.

And lastly, by the way, you're never getting sean back no matter how hard you try. You might as well just try to get the bill gates or nick cage read posters that we stole back because those aren't germaine to our football conquests.

Heres how i see it senorelnino July 25 2003, 21:55:45 UTC
How is saying that "gays are commiting a crime in the eyes of the lord and will burn in hell" gay-bashing? While you may see it as overly fundamintilist (which it is), For many people that is accepted as fact and should be recognized as a legitimate point of view.

I mean hey, it does say its a sin in the bible. I dunno about the Quran but in christian circles it is generaly viewed as extremely wrong.

But hey, you know i don't agree with homosexuality. And yes i think it is extremely wrong. Do i think they're going to burn in hell? i dunno thats not my place... thats god's job to decide not mine. Last time i checked i'm not god. I'm entitled to my opinions, not to pass judgement on somebody elses eternal soul. THAT I think is wrong.

True, but there is one point where I disagree with you. NOWHERE in the bible does it say that homosexuality is a sin. I spent a couple of hours doing extensive research, and I'd be glad to show it to you on monday. There are some unambigious phrases that could be interpreted in that sense, but once you think about them in context, they seem much more logical meaning other things.

As for the Quran, everybody is EQUAL under the eyes of God, despite your sexuality. What it says is that people should be judged on their own merit and the way they live their life, not on things like sex, race, or sexuality.

I can find some verses later but until then I'd just like to say what I think... Being gay is a sin. It is not a chemical imbalance I think that's a bunch of crap no offense...But, I don't think being gay means you are going to hell. If you believe that Jesus died for you so that you could be saved, you're going to heaven. That includes people who still are sinning. You can be saved and still sin but if you love Jesus, you won't want to sin, you want to please him. I'll find some verses to put in here later... ttyl

p.s.-I love George Bush! I think he's a great president and I don't think he cheated to get into office. P.S.S.-I think CNN is biased and always takes the democratic point of view. I also think Fox is slightly biased toward the republican point of view but that's how I like it! hehe

And the bible's not biased in the least? Oh please.

You're wrong. I've read all about the stories of Sodom and Gomorrah... It's ambiguity, as Zee alluded to, makes things so unclear. It's just as easy, by examining the stories, to take the stories a completely different way. If you don't believe, why not read the damn book from a neutral perspective?

If that seems like too much effort, email me and I'll set you ALL straight. Children.

The bible is biased to the point of view of those who wrote it. I shouldn't even have to point that out, I thought that was common knowledge
