It's just a general question I suppose, but... How does a person treat another one so differently from the rest? The rest being all the same. It's a bit cryptic, I know, but that's the only way I can ask.

I'm afraid I don't understand, Professor...

Pro-- I'm not... I'm just a teacher's assistant.

I suppose it is worded strangely. Let me think of an example. You don't like tea. But out of all the teas out there, you find yourself impartial to one and you're trying to figure out why. What makes this one tea different from all the others you dislike?

Oh, pardon me! My mistake.

Mm... Maybe something about that tea doesn't taste awful. For example, you like sweet things, and it's sweeter than most other varieties... Or it has a stronger flavor, which you prefer.

It's all right. Honest mistake.

And if you were to apply this concept to people?

I suppose you will pay for the book that cat ruined, then. It was rather rare.

Athena would not attack needlessly, unlike the poltergeist you are so fond of, and the implication that she would is unwarranted.

'Poltergeist that I'm--' Gabriel? He's a... friend of sorts. You make it seem that I-- In any case, I don't believe there was a need to attack. I don't know if Loki did it on purpose or not because I wasn't there.

If the book is important, and it seems like it is, then I'll take responsibility and replace it.

Owl are natural predators, so it shouldn't have been in there in the first place. Depending on the age of the kitten it probably looked like a rat, which means a tasty cheeseburger to an owl.

This owl is kept there to protect the library by attacking. The library isn't a place for some sort of war. That owl has been trained to attack.

Perhaps if people weren't misbehaving, it wouldn't attack. No one has respect for knowledge anymore, they think it's the Great Hall with books.

It shouldn't have to attack. If people are scared to enter the library because of some judgmental bird, then there's no respect for learning in that aspect. It's scaring people out of expanding their interest to learn.

I have no doubt the owl would be upset with me because I fell asleep in the library under the influence of my cold. I did not mean for it to happen, but it did. Should I be fearful to enter again because of mistake?

Well, it's his own damn fault for whatever it is he did.

Gabriel. It's your fault for not keeping an eye on him.

Depends on the relationship you have with that one against the others.

Wait, it just attacked without explanation?

It's not a good one.

I'm not sure what happened, but he's just a cat. I don't see what he could have done to warrant an attack on him.

And do you want the person to know you're not fond of them?

Odd behaviour for an owl though. Seems almost territorial, him trying to fend off other creatures from coming into the library.

It's not a matter of telling. Just someone... reminds me of my brother. And.. it's pulling at a side of him that hasn't been out in fourteen years.

Perhaps. Loki shouldn't have been in the library yes. But to attack him and them 'dump' him outside of the library?
