It's just a general question I suppose, but... How does a person treat another one so differently from the rest? The rest being all the same. It's a bit cryptic, I know, but that's the only way I can ask.

Pro-- I'm not... I'm just a teacher's assistant.

I suppose it is worded strangely. Let me think of an example. You don't like tea. But out of all the teas out there, you find yourself impartial to one and you're trying to figure out why. What makes this one tea different from all the others you dislike?

Oh, pardon me! My mistake.

Mm... Maybe something about that tea doesn't taste awful. For example, you like sweet things, and it's sweeter than most other varieties... Or it has a stronger flavor, which you prefer.

It's all right. Honest mistake.

And if you were to apply this concept to people?

Well, each person has a different personality than the next... Maybe the person you're talking about is more intelligent than others, and you value that, for whatever reason. Or it could be that they're caring, generous, friendly... Whatever the trait, it's something that sets them apart from everyone else to you.

[As much she'd want to laugh at most of the qualities that Romeo mentioned, she may be the only one who sees it but Gabriel has them. And despite how bad he says he is, she can't see it. Maybe she's hiding it well from her, and well, he is.]

I like your insight on the situation.
