Heh, while part of me is eating up the woobie!Cas with a spoon, another part of me is wondering why he'd be all that bothered by Lucifer after everything he has endured.
I think this might be my favorite coda so far. It's such an interesting and refreshing take on Castiel vs Lucifer. Plus I'm more of a fan of Badass!Cas than I am of woobie!Cas. Great job.
Hey, thanks muchly! I'm not actually averse to a touch of woobie!Cas but for me it needs to be threaded with his sheer badassery and snark, and I think it's a difficult balance to achieve! In the case of that ep I can't honestly conceive of why Lucifer should frighten him at this point in his existence!
I can't see Lucifer getting to him in the same ways he did with Sam, certainly. I think if he did, it would be either by presenting Cas with images of people he's betrayed to death and with whom there is therefore no hope of reconciliation (Balthazar, Rachel, etc), or (and/or?) with the I AM YOU method, pointing out how far Cas went and how unforgivable he is, just like Lucifer. They'd be Cas' weak points, I think, rather than straightforward torture (because, yes, why would he fear that?).
And yes, too much woobie/damsel Cas does get a bit wearing. Cas has RESOURCES and TERRIFYINGNESS. Which he uses just fine, so long as he doesn't think he deserves what's happening to him...
Poor confused Hallucifer.
(From which you may deduce - this was great fun, and slyly written. Thanks!)
Thanks muchly! I'm pleased it worked for you… I think it's easy to forget how devious Cas can be when one is immersing oneself in the angsty woobie goodness that 7.17 teed up, but I do like to nod to that aspect of his character when I write him, if I can.

Oh totally… that'd be really interesting to see, too, though I (sadly) have my doubts that we will…
BAMF!cas is back!!! Oh how I missed this side of you. I love the interaction between Cas and Luci. And Dean trying to be pissy and not succeeding to hold on to it very long was just awesome!! Love your work!
Awesome. There's something I really love about the casual tone of this story. I've really enjoyed reading the codas that have come out, and of course, most have been swimming in the angst (not that I'm complaining!) but this one just has a great amount of humor while still being in character. Love it!
Thanks muchly! I'm not a huge fan of overly woobie!Cas myself, because he is a Warrior of God and all that, but I do appreciate a good depiction of his emotional disorientation (for want of a better term) when confronted by all these feelings he has for Dean, and his guilt. I really can't even hazard a guess as to where they are going to take this, but I hope it's something positive!
The hug! *GROSS SOBBING* You saved the best for last :D
I just saw the 7x17 and this was soooo needed . . . You need to write angels for a living because I love the way you write all their relationships with each other, their complex, dysfunctional family set. It's fucking great.
COME TO ME EVIL TWIN, AND LET ME CLASP YOU TO MY SKINNY BOSOM!!!!
Not that I would be at all averse to Dean having to smuggle catatonic!Cas out of there, and be all caring and protective but… this is the BAMF who went to Hell twice, who has faced Death willingly. Is he really going to be taken down by a hallucination of Lucifer? Seriously?!
AND MUCH AS I LOVED SEEING CAS AND GETTING SOME D/C FEELS, DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE FUCKING LOUSY OVERALL WRITING AND PACING IN THIS EP.
DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE FUCKING LOUSY OVERALL WRITING AND PACING IN THIS EP.
INFINITE CREYS. There was so much going on that it really needed more space than a single episode can allow. I can suspend disbelief for a lot of things, but Cas has been a whole other person for months and got married and he just remembers in a split second everything that happened to him before hand he's just, like, okay with that? PLUS, WHO WOULD MARRY A DUDE WHO DOESN'T EAT OR SLEEP? Just sayin'. These things are kinda important when picking out potential life mates. It was also an aspect completely ignored and unresolved by the ep's conclusion.
Oh God. The writing. It's great to see the acting is still excellent, but man -- the material they're being handed. I think I face-palmed several times. This is Guiding Light dialogue, for the love of sweet baby jesus. I mean, look -- I'll grant that I didn't start watching SPN because of the snappy one-liners, but some clever campy humor would have gone a long way to making soap opera devices more

Yeah. Who knows what the PTBs are planning for him, but I personally prefer your vision (I don't trust the Devil Gamble).
