This is amazing omg
I thought about Cas overcoming Lucifer, and Ive thought about them becoming friends
But I never thought about him overcoming Lucifer BY becoming his friend

My mind is blown

I love their brotherly games, and talks, and mutual hatred of Meg ♥

How about a small sequel showing Cas deliberately calling forth Lucifer's hallucination? *puppy eyes*

Awww, thank you! Yeah, I see Cas as pretty resourceful and we know he's a warrior. I'm not averse to a bit of softie!Cas, but I don't honestly see him being all that fazed by Lucifer. Heh, I shall have to think about where it might be possible to call forth Lucifer! I wonder if that's what they'll do in the show?

Thanks for you comment: I'm thrilled you enjoyed it. ;-)

Aw, I love how Cas rationalized Hallucifer right out of his mind. Or at least tone down the most annoying of his hallucinactivities. And Dean and Cas always warm my heart (lol Sam knows to get out before he witnesses anything mind scarring)

Yeah, I don't honestly see a Motherfucking Angel of the Lord being all that fazed by a hallucination of Lucifer, but I guess we'll see where they take that. I certainly wouldn't be averse to seeing Dean caring for a slightly woobie!Cas, but I hope we get our Cas back…

Hey, thanks bb! I had written a brief and more angsty one, but had this idea at the back of my mind for doing some sort of nod to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Originally I was going to do it longer and have Cas wreaking all sorts of havoc with Meg's attempts to run a tight ship, but I don't honestly have the time what with writing RR stuff! I can't even begin to guess where they will take this but canonically it doesn't make much sense for Cas to be taken down by a hallucination of Lucifer, so hopefully it'll be a way of writing Lucifer out for good. Though what I dread is some sort of Castifer hybrid, meh.

Heh, Cas should stay there forever and wreak havoc! And the end scene is Meg getting her own 51/50! XD

Thx, bb: I'm thrilled you enjoyed it... ;-)

I'm loving all this fanart and fic activity after 7.17, though the episode itself was quite reminiscent of Bad!fic. This is my favorite 7.17 coda so far, because it's so in keeping with character. I mean Cas, who's been to Hell to retrieve Dean, who was put in angel boot camp by Zach, who's died over and over, who swallowed Purgatory and became God, who was overtaken by Leviathans, to become catatonic in the show, because of the memory of Lucifer, is beyond ridiculous to me. So thanks, bb, for recalling who Cas IS, a warrior of God, and superb tactician, and clearly God's favorite angel child in the SPN verse, and showing how masterfully he would be able to send Luci packing.

Also, awww.... at the D/C hug at the end (poor Dean has been pining away for Cas all season) and Sam leaving them to it like an Awesome!Brother.

Badfic, hell yes. Loved the D/C feels but JFC, so badly written overall, and makes very little sense.

I'm not averse to some degree of woobie!Cas, and maybe it can be wanked he might be psychologically affected on some level by Lucifer because of the fact they're all sorta joined within the Host (at least that's how I perceive the angelic hive-mind). But… that would depend on Lucifer being real, or there being some sort of psychic link being established from the Cage, surely? And the show hasn't so far suggested that… not that it means they won't, of course, since continuity is totally non-existent from what I hear. I just hope they aren't going to go that route in order to turn him into some sort of Casifer hybrid for the S8 Big Bad.

But over and above that yeah canonically there is no real reason why Cas shouldn't be able to deal with this and throw it off, so I hope that's what happens.

God, will we ever get the damn hug?
