Kittens and heroic acts

Nov 13, 2008 08:43

Okay, all you local types:  we need to find a home for a small black kitten, sex indeterminate, rescued from the highway in an act of heroic car-dodging by our own Fergus de Botha.

I just spoke to him on the phone, and he was shaky and adrenaline-zapped; apparently he saw a tiny kitten go running into the middle of morning rush-hour traffic, jerked ( Read more... )

hope, furpersons, goodthings

Varr's been talking about a kitten and you can't beat free with a stick. If you don't get any other takers by the end of the day, I've got a home for it.

Well, this is what Varr gets for warning me that the expansion pack comes out today and I'm going to be a WOW widow for the next week or so. Don't worry about the kitten chow, I can pick some up. I can probably pick up the kitten too. I'm going to have to get dressed and leave the house sometime.

You sure? I don't mind either way, the chow or the delivery. I'm just glad the little thing's getting a home, and I bet you'll find Varr playing WOW with a furball in his lap in pretty short order.

I would, but I can't! Three kitties in this apartment is more than enough.

One of the first cats I grew up with was a large black and white cat named 'Freeway'.
Her story was very similar to this Freeway's, Gigi nearly caused a traffic accident to save her from the LA freeways.

... her other nickname was 'Flea-way', due to her long thick hair that made people think the cat was over-weight.
-at least until you got her wet, and realised 2/3s of her mass was hair. ^^;;

It's always been the kind of generic name I've heard for highway!rescue!kittehs, like naming a dog who's been through bad, maiming accidents "Lucky". Seems to fit.

Ya'll done named her and everything. Sheesh!

After seeing the amount of cars that had zipped past her this morning, I took to calling her "Lucky". "Freeway" works except she was found on a "parkway". "Kenworth" might work too as that's what I pulled her out from under of. Well I think she's "Lucky" in more ways than I have time to count.

Thanks for taking her in, Blossom. It about broke my heart when I figured out that we couldn't take her.

Now I know she'll be loved.

HEY!!! YA'LL SHUT UP!!! Can't a guy get something in his eye without it being a federal case?
