Kittens and heroic acts

Okay, all you local types:  we need to find a home for a small black kitten, sex indeterminate, rescued from the highway in an act of heroic car-dodging by our own Fergus de Botha.

I just spoke to him on the phone, and he was shaky and adrenaline-zapped; apparently he saw a tiny kitten go running into the middle of morning rush-hour traffic, jerked ( Read more... )

I'm for naming the kitten Evil Knievel. XD

I want a cat! But I can't while I live with the folks. TT

Varr gets to name the cat. I realized that he has not named a single one of our pets and since I've told him I got him a present but not what it is, I think letting him name it might keep me from getting my ass kicked for being a sucker and taking in a stray.

Huh; I didn't know you could spell 'saint' s-u-c-k-e-r. You learn new things every day. XD

And yeah, that seems fair. Wanna bet it ends up being named something from WOW?

I totally agree. A toast to Fergus for being a Cat-Saving Hero, and to Blossom & Varr for finding a place in their home and hearts for the little fuzzball. This is one kitteh who has a future in front of her full of love and security; she didn't have that a few hours ago.

She just drank down two warmed up containers of Half and Half (real stuff, not fake.) It took some doing to get her to accept my finger as a "nipple". She hasn't even been weened.

She's sleeping comfortably now and seems a lot more relaxed.

Good gods, how young IS this kitten? I know feral cats will nurse kittens for a long time, but if her eyes are in the process of changing she should be at least 5 to 7 weeks old. How tiny is she? Poor little critter's probably full for the first time in her life.

She lapped up the juice from the solid food and then promptly went back to sleepy-by. If this kid were any cuter, I'd need insulin.
