Finished another book last night -- The Smoke Jumper by Nicholas Evans.  It was pretty good, but predictable... and it was almost two books in one (started in Montana, travelled to Africa, then quickly ended back in Montana).  I'm not convinced a man can or should be writing about love from a woman's point of view, but he did an OK job.  I think ( Read more... )

massive separation anxiety when mom & dad leave for work, but happy as a clam in sand when they're home. she loves playing with ruby & charlotte (my parents' dogs), and is even getting along with Maximus Cattimus. Apparently they were snuggling on the couch the other day but Mom didn't have the camera. (aww...)

Yeah, I read smoke jumper a while ago...wasn't that memorable really.
If you're into Davinci code type stuff - read the rule of four and the seven ancient wonders (although that one was a bit dumb in my opinion - too many exclaimation marks for my liking). Another predictible one, but good is Blue Smoke - can't remeber the author...

I just finished The Conjuror's Bird - pretty good. Another mystery type - but it's set in London (and I know where a lot of the places are!!!)

There's A Short History of Tractors in Ukranian which was pretty good for the most part. Some slow bits, but funny bits too...also set in England
Reading the Widow of the South now...so far, eh. Just started though, so I'll let you know.

my list of "To Reads" is getting WAY long! :) I'm starting working on Eragon (by Christopher Paolini) last night... written 3 or 4 yrs ago when he was 15 years old, and it's coming out as a movie in December! that little shite won't have to work a day in his life, i swear.
