Actually, we've had it since last Tuesday. However, LJ is now completely blocked at work (other than through my Blackberry, which is a royal pain to use with LJ), so I can only access it at home, but I'm not on the computer much here. So tomorrow, though, I shall try to post a brief description of life post-Ike.

Not much to report, alas. The wedding planning is somewhat at a lull, as most of the big stuff (church, reception location, music, dress, food, alcohol) has been taken care of. Alas, I got distracted for about 30 seconds of it by my coworker standing behind me to look out the window and then another coworker asking me to lunch. And I forgot Turkmenistan.

And after running through a gourd of the stuff this morning like usual (refilling it until it has no more taste/caffeine), and my normal one after lunch, I decided to make some terere with 7-up and some fresh lemons I got from a coworker, and I'm buzzing like a motherfucker. I haven't been this wired on caffeine in years. w00

I am, for possibly the first time in my life, completely caught up at work. I have no open help desk tickets, no work orders, there are no unassigned tickets needing to be picked up, I have no outstanding projects or documentation to write, the phones are quiet: I am left with nothing to do. Off to do the daily crossword!

I stepped out for a smoke this evening, and there was a large cockroach crawling on top of some shrubbery in front of my window. I've decided that the portion of Josquin's "Credo" from Missa Pange Lingua that runs from "genitum non factum" to "descendit de caelis" is the best part of the whole mass, and it pisses me off that he didn't write a whole mass along that vein.
