Not much to report, alas. The wedding planning is somewhat at a lull, as most of the big stuff (church, reception location, music, dress, food, alcohol) has been taken care of. Elisa and I moved into a new house this past weekend, which was quite hard work (5 trips in a UHaul, woohoo!) and there's still a crapload of stuff at the old place (including the cats). I quite like the house -- it's a mid-70s construction, but effing huge with twists and turns and a weird loft+bedroom overlooking the living room with a scary spiral staircase. We think it used to be the attic, and are quite perplexed as to what to do with it as getting almost anything up there is almost impossible due to the staircase being approximately shoulder width.
Also, some weeks ago, I made the extremely difficult decision to give up Darla. I had been mulling this for months but ultimately felt that I had to. Her chewing was still out of control, and even medication did not help -- it would settle her down initially but its effects would wear off, and increasing the dosage did not help. Also, I was still worried about her aggression -- she had already once seriously injured Drusilla, and with her aggression towards Elisa's cat Dante (who is the biggest poon ever and despite possessing a perfectly good set of teeth and claws would when faced with mortal danger most likely flop on his back and purr) we were worried that she would wind up hurting him as well. Since she's been gone, though, a change has come over Drusilla. I've never seen her like this before, but she has turned from a shy, timid, hesitant cat to one that is bold and affectionate, vying with Dante for the coveted lap position on the couch and following us like a puppy and begging for pettings.
Other than that, though, it's just the daily thingy of work and homery and stuff. We're planning to visit the Dallas area sometime the beginning of this year, but not sure when. And stuff.
