Today I went to the Billingsgate Roman bath house, which was open to the public as part of the Festival of Archaeology that’s currently going on. A busy ten days
Last weekend it was a friend's birthday and we went to one of the London Zoo Lates, which is where they keep the zoo open till 10pm on summer nights, don't let in children, add in a load of nice food stalls and bars, and everyone gets to jaunt around cooing at the animals and generally have a great time. I had a date last night, which I was dreading a little bit because it had been so long since I went on a date and sometimes when I get nervous I forget how to person, but she turned out to be really sweet (and cute!), and I had a lovely time. A book post
What did you recently finish reading?
I just gave up on Guardians of the Galaxy: Angela because the art was disappointingly male-gazey.
Before that I read a fun mystery novel from the first decade of the twentieth century called The Circular Staircase. The author is Mary Roberts Rinehart; apparently she gets compared to Agatha Christie a lot, but I ( Read more... ) -
Mostly Merlin
I really got out of the habit of posting here recently. I'd love to say I've been off doing something super exciting, but in reality I've mostly just been losing my mind over Winter Soldier on tumblr.

It's a beautifully sunny day but I'm full of cold, so I've just had a really long nap before heading up to Islington for some weird play (the only thing I can remember from the description of it is that it features full-frontal nudity so I kind of hope we don't end up on the front row) that a friend is dragging me to see.

The Three Musketeers has been one of my favourite books for years. I'm re-reading it at the moment and absolutely loving it (and I'd forgotten just how funny it is.) That being the case, the new adaptation that's on the BBC at the moment was always going to be my cup of tea, and I'm really pretty obsessed with it right now.
