I really like this! I love watching them move closer. Rose's process here is very realistic for a girl of her age and era--it's something she's never considered before, only seen in (probably godawful) porn, so of course she doesn't associate it with love and intimacy. I like watching her process here, from rejecting it, to thinking about it, to considering it, and finally, when she realizes just how much they care about her and her feelings, throwing caution to the wind and giving herself to them. Beautiful!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I'm glad Rose's process comes across the way I intended it. Yes, she's only ever regarded threesomes as something that happens in truly disgusting porn flicks (Jimmy has poor taste), but realizing how much these two care about her makes her slowly realize that nothing they'd do together could ever be dirty exploitation.
Oh, I'm a fan. It makes sense that Rose would think twice before jumping into bed with them both, and I loved the Doctor's speech to her, making her see that her point of view isn't universal. I also really, really loved the banter between the three of them, the description of Jack's bedroom (I laughed out loud at the thought of the mirror and vibrating waterbed), and Rose finally accepting their relationship as more than friendly. Lovely, lovely, lovely!
Thank you very much! Yes, the Doctor tearing a strip off Rose was difficult to get right, but it had to happen. Much as he loves her, he doesn't let her get away with everything.
Glad you enjoyed the banter. *g* Yeah, Jack's bedroom would have to be... special.
Aww, I loved the part where Rose thinks of her friendships with people that would have been considered sinful or wrong many years ago. It was a sweet way of putting her situation in perspective. You really did put us inside her head. :)
Thank you! I'm glad that part worked! I wanted to show Rose realizing how social mores are always changing, and things that are considered "wrong" at any given point in time can be totally arbitrary, and mean nothing in another time. Glad it worked. :)
Oh, you handled this so well, particularly playing Rose's and Jack's separate, but equally affecting insecurities off each other. You showed Jack for so much more than the leering conman he sometimes comes on as, and the Doctor as fully engaged in the relationship. Really sweet - brava!
Yes, Jack's a lot more insecure than he likes to let on - and he really needed the Doctor's support here to be able to understand where Rose was coming from, and understand that he's not a terrible person, either.
