Happy Death day to you! RP

Sep 14, 2007 20:37

There were a lot of things to be done - more then usual, and half of them she didn't want to do.  Walking around the small kitchen she continued to glance out the back door toward the top of the Mountain.  She knew, sooner or later she would have to prepare herself for the ceremony and she wasn't sure if that was something that actually ( Read more... )

Travel with his arm exhausted him, even when it was travel by way of translocation. That was the only way he could explain how she moved. When they had arrived at the house late last night, he had struggled with her for a little while before passing out. He had a vague memory of being wake in the morning and petting an ocelot.

When he work up again, the sun was going down and he was alone. He showered and dressed in a pair of gray slacks and a a dark burgundy shirt. His arm went back into the stabilizer and he decided he was not going to shave.

He found her and the sake on the porch. He sat down next to her and kissed her cheek. "Hello, Aijin. You look beautiful."

Looking up, she smiled and turned to look at him, blushing a little she lent forward and kissed his mouth lightly, his beard still tickled and pricked at her lips.

"Hello, Nushi. You look so very handsome tonight, Mmm, very handsome indeed."

Chuckling a little, she slid her hand down his chest, rubbing the soft fabric between her fingers before lifting her head and then offering him the bottle of sake - she had put the cup . . . somewhere.

"Drink?"

He took the bottle and took a quick drink from it before leaning into her hand. He stole another kiss, then another drink, before setting the bottle between them.

"You don't think I've over dressed? Should I have shaved?"

Laughing, she shook her head and kissed him again - he now tasted like Sake, which was very attractive.

"No, I like you with a beard, it makes you look rugged and . . . very rawr, big strong man. It works for you. Sometimes I wish I had a beard."

Snake brought the essentials for any party with his childhood friend; good bourbon, opium and of course his mother's goulash or well his best attempt at her recipe. He also brought her a gift. It was a rebirth or death or something party.

Snake walked up toward the front porch smiling. He'd brought Sarge with him who bounded along beside him.

Katsumi looked up and smiled when she saw Snake, leaning forward she reached out and pet the dog, and giggled when he licked her hand.

"Snake-san! I am glad you could make it, thank you for coming, who is your handsome friend?" Pulling her hand free, she squeezed Grady's leg.

"This is my Grady!"

Grady offered his good hand and smiled. "Grady Fletcher."

Snake walked up to them but his hands were rather full with the tray of goulash, the bottle and a small box wrapped in orange paper.

That's Sarge. He always flies with me. It's possible that Katsumi would know that was Taylor's nickname in the military. Snake smiled at Grady.

Good to finally meet you. Got no free hands at the moment.

Sirius apparated on the edge of the field, his backpack slung over his shoulder and wand in hand. He tucked the wand into the pocket of his jacket and then made his way towards her.

Smiling. Because he had a surprise!

Standing up, glass in hand, she waved and laughed once again. "Ookami! You made it! I am surprised you could find the place, please, come join us!"

"I missed on the first try and ended up in a shower in Burbank. You should've seen the look on that guy's face."

Sirius laughed and then unzipped his backpack, pulling out a pink cake box, and then offered it to her for her to open. "I made it myself."

Thank you, Martha Stewart Living.

Laughing hard, she took the box and opened it, her head fell back and she laughed again.

"First, you did not make this, it looks too good." She teased him. "Second, I bet he was pretty surprised - I can simply imagine the look on his face. I am glad you managed to get it right this time. My friend sune-ku is here, and so is Grady. Have you met?"

She motioned to the two men on the porch.

Looking up, she started to laugh when she saw the two of them - she waited until they had finished the song and the blush in her cheeks had died down before she walked to them. She hugged Dog first and then bent down to stroke Corwin's back happily.

"Oh, thank you, you two! This is the sweetest gift! You two sing beautifully!"

"You're welcome Katsumi. It's not every day one gets to attend a deathday party," Corwin woofed out, his tail wagging happily. Oh, he was going to miss the pettings. Soon, he would have to change back, but not today.

"Yes, thank you Katsumi. I wasn't sure how well our voices would be for this occasion," Dog blurted out, still blushing from the hug.

Kneeling down next to Corwin, she started rubbing his tummy, the Jack Russel always delighted her to no end - and to think there was a human soul in the body made her actually laugh out loud. Tilting her head up she smiled at Dog.

"Oh, it was very beautiful, you are the first to sing to me! What a very wonderful treat. How have you been Dog, Corwin?"

Brittany was excited. She'd been to her fair share of parties in college, not as many as Jack's sister Carol, but there were plenty of get-togethers for the various athletic teams. Then once she'd graduated, she'd helped organize office holiday parties. This one was a little different, because she didn't think she'd know many people there, but she was happy to be invited. And determined to actually contribute something.

She'd turned up with a tray of Rice Krispie Treats -- couldn't go wrong with those -- and a gift. One never went to a birth...or death...day party without a gift. Of course, she hadn't known exactly what to get, but hopefully it wouldn't suck too much. Then there was the wardrobe. She had to admit it, she wanted to look good. It was the first time she'd seen either of them since she and Grady had broken things off, and she wanted to look like she was okay. So she'd settled on a good pair of jeans and a blouse that wasn't too revealing but that brought out her eyes.

Just don't turn into a wreck, she admonished herself ( ... )

Looking up, her eyebrows lifted toward her hair line, and she tucked hair behind her ear as she laughed and moved forward. Small steps confined by the silk of her Kimono she stepped up toward Brittany and then bowed graciously and straightened before taking the tray.

"Well we wanted to wait for you before the fireworks started. Thank you for the treats, they look delicious. I am very glad you could make it. Please, have fun and relax, you look very beautiful tonight."

She blushed, and grinned.

"Hey, it's the least I could do. Thanks for having me. I'm honored to be invited, really."

And it makes a damn good escape from dealing with the mess of Jack's midlife crisis and Jake's upcoming SAC interview and why can't I have my own problems instead of everyone else's?

She smiled and took a look around. This was a far different view than she saw while hanging around in suburban Los Angeles. Scenery was not something commonplace in one of America's biggest cities.

"This looks fabulous."

"Of course! I love having people to my home - please, make yourself at home - there is food, and good company. Relax and enjoy yourself."

Taking the tray, she walked to a table and set down the food down and then picked one up. Taking a bite, she chewed thoughtfully and then licked her lips.

"Oh! These are delicious, I do not think I have ever had one of these."
