            There were a lot of things to be done - more then usual, and half of them she didn't want to do.  Walking around the small kitchen she continued to glance out the back door toward the top of the Mountain.  She knew, sooner or later she would have to prepare herself for the ceremony and she wasn't sure if that was something that actually

Snake brought the essentials for any party with his childhood friend; good bourbon, opium and of course his mother's goulash or well his best attempt at her recipe. He also brought her a gift. It was a rebirth or death or something party.

Snake walked up toward the front porch smiling. He'd brought Sarge with him who bounded along beside him.

Katsumi looked up and smiled when she saw Snake, leaning forward she reached out and pet the dog, and giggled when he licked her hand.

"Snake-san! I am glad you could make it, thank you for coming, who is your handsome friend?" Pulling her hand free, she squeezed Grady's leg.

"This is my Grady!"

Grady offered his good hand and smiled. "Grady Fletcher."

Snake walked up to them but his hands were rather full with the tray of goulash, the bottle and a small box wrapped in orange paper.

That's Sarge. He always flies with me. It's possible that Katsumi would know that was Taylor's nickname in the military. Snake smiled at Grady.

Good to finally meet you. Got no free hands at the moment.

Standing up, she quickly took the tray from his hands and shook her head. "Please, sorry about that, I forget my manners. He is a very handsome boy, and what a very fitting name. I will go put these on the table."

Bowing her head, she headed down to where the Lanterns were set up to set the tray on the table. Inhaling, she lifted the lid to the goulash and snuck a bite before returning.

"Oh the goulash is delicious! Just like your mother's!"

Grady watched her walk to the tables, then turned to look at Snake. "Is that a bottle of bourbon?"

He held the bottle out to Grady. 21 year, single cask. Best shit there is.

Snake smiled when Katsumi returned The orange box is for you sweetheart.

Yeah it's just like mom's or close as I could remember.

Katsumi ran back to the table and picked up the orange box, when she opened it when she returned and she stared down at the contents. For a long time she didn't say anything - just stared at it.

"W-why. Oh, sune-ku. This is too much, such a beautiful, extravagant gift!"

She tackled him, hugging him tightly.

Grady managed to save the bourbon, barely. He set it on the porch, then went inside to get a glass.

Snake hugged her and shook his head. They were my mother's. I saw your wish list and thought maybe she'd like you to have them.

Snake was glad he had both good balance and the bourbon had been rescued.

Stepping back, she sat down on the porch and shook her head slowly. "Your mother's? Oh, sune-ku, no, I couldn't do that. They should stay in your family, pass them on to your wife or your daughters . . ."

Putting the box on her lap she chewed on her bottom lip indecisively as she looked up to wait for Grady to come back.

He came back outside with three glass, two balanced in the stabilizer. He handed them down to her one at a time before looking out across the field at the new arrival.

Taking the glass she nodded and followed his gaze toward Sirius and laughed a bit.

"I am surprised he remembered where it was."

Snake sat down beside Katsumi. My wife doesn't wear this kind of thing and my daughter's got other things. Her wedding dress and I've got something for the other two.

Snake looked up at the other man who arrived and shrugged. He wasn't much concerned. he hadn't really come to socialize. it wasn't his thing.

"I still feel a little bad." She admitted before sitting back down and looking at him. Reaching into the box she slid her fingers over the pearl necklace and earrings.

"I think I will be able to cover myself in pearls sooner or later."

These'll make a good start then. Snake picked up the pearls and put them on her so she couldn't give the box back.
