Pete Doherty is just too fucking stupid to be attractive. Getting arrested for drugs possession THREE HOURS after you just narrowly managed to avoid getting sent to prison for, um, drugs possession is epically moronic. I mean, seriously. At least give it a day or two and make it look very slightly less like you're mocking the magistrate.

As I don't have to marry him or bail him out, I am blissfully immune to all reason regarding him. He is all gamine and creamy-skinned and fluffyhaired with inch-long eyelashes and a red-pillowed mouth and he kisses boys and dresses like a girl and even thinking about him rends my reason.

I dunno, man. Drugs are weird. I was busted by a state antidrug task force, searched, threatened with dogs, patted down, and lectured by a couple of plainclothes agents, and I was getting high ten minutes after they dropped me off. I don't consider myself dumb as a rule, just, er--impaired under certain conditions.
#2, I got nothing, 'cuz I'm still obsessed with my first serious hero-worship/attraction from twenty YEARS ago... ..and haven't really dismissed any of the ones that have popped up since, either. Over time, the intensity fades away until I'm no longer actively thinking about them, but if they get referenced to even tangentially I'm all "OOH! I like THAT ONE!"
Gah.
#3, I've discovered there's quite a bit of brilliant Tim/Kon (current Robin/Superboy from DC) out there... ..mmmmmmm, superheroicallyangsty.... I can rec authors and a primer and I can go on and on and On and ON in detail about their wonderfulisherisness as needed...
Okay, I'll assume you know something about DC comics to begin with. You're my age; you know the SuperFriends. (Things have come a loooooong way since then. Thank God. *g*)
DCUniverse Primer. This is wirtten from a fanfic POV, but as you're a writer, that's fine. Slaaaaaaaashy. It even comments on the skashiness; some of the canon is just unbelievably man-on-man. And woman-on-woman. Oddly enough, the fanfic tends to ignore het, lol.
There's a truckload of great links at the end of the post; the most important one for the new reader is probably dcfic_index. Once you've figured out where you want to start, it will get you there. The other biggie is dc_central, which is pretty much just as it sounds, but I find jl_fic to be better, in the sense of "go here for stories

Not only can't I get over Pete Doherty's mouth, but I also can't stop imagining the pretty of Pete and Ray Torro locking lips. I want it filmed and on permanent loop in my brain.
