the pool is closed today in observance of veteran's day. my plan is to sit on the couch and finally type up all my notes for nano. word goal today: 15k (which is less than what it should be, but I haven't typed a single word yet this month) (well, except for emails and this journal but that's not what we're counting here)
i can't do this. I'm going to bed now and hope that when I get to work tomorrow and check the results, I find that this country did not vote to open the seventh seal of hell.
Yesterday at the in-service for work, I actually got in the water! (The last time I swam was the 22nd - TWO WEEKS of non-swimming) It was divine. I couldn't actually, you know, *swim* but I did laps with kicking and egg beatering and watched the other guards do the stuff the supervisors told us to do. I even did 25 yards underwater. :) I'm

One of the guards had to jump in this morning to save a kid who took off swimming while the instructor's back was turned. (not, surprisingly, the kid I mentioned the other day) I was in the tower watching over the deep end, but saw her jump in. I think it's a good sign that rescues are so rare at this pool that even the supervisors weren't too

wing1 is fine. Her skin is a little red but the pain is gone. Someone put an old word processor in the Free Shelf at school so she has a new toy. :) She's named it Dana and plans to write her NaNo on it

wing1 came home late last night. wing2 picked her up from the train station. She had to get some paperwork from the doctor for her JET application, and had to see the doctor face-to-face. so GeekBoy worked from home today.
