Ok, since you posted at the get-go that you had it finished and would be posting regularly I decided to wait to comment until it was finished because, let's face it, after that first set of chapters, I knew I'd be struck speechless by it's awesome factor every time

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this story and to send such long (yes!) and thoughtful comments.
This will make my year: I just absolutely LOVE the intelligence level you breathed into Uhura!!! . Can you see me exhaling? Nothing, absolutely nothing, was more important to me than this. Not only did I agonize over this day and night, my poor best friend was also put through the ringer. She's never even seen the movie and she's only vaguely aware of the series. Thank you from both of us.
damn I hated Gathright!
So do I for the reasons you mentioned and because he wouldn't let me rest at night.
Uhura and Spock no neat and tidy exchange
Every character in this story challenged me directly when they suffered from lazy writing. Spock is not human. Nyota is and they both forced me to respect them for who and what they are. This final version (which is in dire need of editing) is so far removed from the original, I view them as two different stories.
Romulan girl, PLEASE tell me you're considering writing a sequel or

A lot of us over at the S/U comm think Uhura can and sdhould be the ultimate BAMF, and some of us even write her that way. You have taken that view of her to the nth degree and beyond!
A hundred thousand kudos.
Am eager for what comes next -- epilogue, deleted scenes, Uhura-centric fics where "Spock is just along for the ride" and all.
Thank you so much for doing this, and for doing it do well.

In my mind, she is and always has been! I undertook this project as a personal challenge. Nyota Uhura, even before she had a last name, was and still is a role model in the sense that I wanted to grow up to be Nichelle Nichols. I wanted her dignity, her grace and her ability to articulate herself so magnificently. Every episode she was in, regardless of her limited lines, had a significant impact on me and how I perceive myself.
The epilogue and deleted scenes are definitely on the way. The satellite stories will come after a short break.
Good luck on all of your stories. I used to read Playing with Toys in my office, thus, I never got around to commenting. I need to rectify this because I loved that story!
Wow. This story is absolutely amazing. It was so incredibly emotional and visceral and I savored and adored every moment of it. That desk bit was genius and I loved your love scenes. I was so happy with the end of Gathright (though I get the feeling we haven't quite seen the last of him...) and I wanted to thank you for writing a fanfiction of such incredible caliber. Your characterizations were spot-on, in my opinion and I think I fell more in love with Spock and Uhura even more than I already was. I can't wait to read more from you and I hope that you will, indeed, make this into a series.

*dies happily* Thank you so much. Some of the comments I've read today have just blown my little mind. I never ever allow myself to think that I've done enough, thus, when you say that the characterizations were spot-on, it means so much to me.
Upheaval is definitely the background story for an entire series.
Gathright? I'm afraid even if he remains "dead," he still has the power to affect much of the series.
Is there much more of Nar? Believe me, I always peek when you post parts. More than likely, it will be the ultimate Uhura/Spock story and with Sybok to boot.

I'm reaching out to Ki'sekiko in hopes that she'll respond favorably sooner rather than later.
