Thank you so much for taking the time to read this story and to send such long (yes!) and thoughtful comments.
This will make my year: I just absolutely LOVE the intelligence level you breathed into Uhura!!! . Can you see me exhaling? Nothing, absolutely nothing, was more important to me than this. Not only did I agonize over this day and night, my poor best friend was also put through the ringer. She's never even seen the movie and she's only vaguely aware of the series. Thank you from both of us.
damn I hated Gathright!
So do I for the reasons you mentioned and because he wouldn't let me rest at night.
Uhura and Spock no neat and tidy exchange
Every character in this story challenged me directly when they suffered from lazy writing. Spock is not human. Nyota is and they both forced me to respect them for who and what they are. This final version (which is in dire need of editing) is so far removed from the original, I view them as two different stories.
Romulan girl, PLEASE tell me you're considering writing a sequel or something that will continue talking about her!
I'm looking forward to her keeping me awake at night. She definitely won't be dropped like a hot potato.
Relationship stuff, Number One and all sorts of madness is a part of the game plan. After the epilogue and I clear my head, I'll start working on satellite stories. They'll be much shorter, but definitely set in this Uhura/Spock verse.
Thank you again. Comments like these are invaluable. All the love and support for these characters makes me feel very accomplished.
