[Okay, so rolling backwards on a swivel chair wasn't the best idea. Because Stein just crashed into Caesar's fort, most likely knocking over books.]

[And thus was the integrity of the fort short-lived.]

Hey! [Caesar stares at the now teacher filled hole in the wall of books.] What's the big idea?

My bad. [Stein hops back up on his chair. He's perfectly fine, oh yes, but the fort... uh.] Didn't see it there.

How did you not see a huge mass of books? [Unless he was... oh no. Who even does that?] ...were you rolling around in that chair? [Backwards, if the way he fell through the wall indicates anything.]

Honestly. [Some people! Caesar grumbles and stands up again, stepping over to check out the damage Stein caused.]

[He was sure Naruto or someone was behind that wall of books to be honest, so he dragged a chair over and peered over the top.]

He--...Caesar what are you doing? [carefully balancing not to knock anything over]

[Maybe Naruto's weird is infectious? That wouldn't be surprising.]

Reading.

[Caesar doesn't bother looking up from the book he's opened and is paging through idly. Just sitting there, reading, like nothing strange is going on at aaaall.]

[...pokes a book and raises an eyebrow]

...You couldn't nap?

[The book wall Matt is peeking over is the one made entirely of reference books. Entirely. All of them. A reference book. This includes all the cookbooks.]

I have an unfortunate amount of energy today. [Pageturn.] So I made a fort.

[Oh, so that's where the whole history section went. Sitting on top of a barren bookshelf, peering down at the castle person.]

So are you the Book King, or a knight or prince or duke or czar or just sitting?

[Caesar looks up from the book he'd begun idly flipping through. What. Should that little girl be up there? Probably not, but if she managed to get up there, she probably knows climbing just fine.]

Those are all really pompous titles. I'm not nobility. [He closes the book.] Just a Guardian of Knowledge will do.

[Well how else was she supposed to look inside? Swinging her feet a little, she considers before nodding along.]

Yeah, okay! That sounds cool too and I dunno what pomp-us means but if you say you're a guardian then you can be like friends of the river guardians and that'd be awesome! [Pause.] So if you're guarding it does it mean I can't have any?

[There was a gate! Tablegate. She could have knocked on it. Though viewing from above works just as well.]

River guardians? [What even? He inwardly shrugs and lets it slide. Kids have imaginations for that sort of stuff.] Yeah. We're cool. [He looks at the books in the walls, then back up at Navi.]

Sure you can. You just have to ask.

[...] D-did you turn the foreign language section into part of the gate?

[Idly paging through yet another book. He doesn't look up from it, but does answer.]

Yes. The other half is made up of atlases and guide books.

I kind of need one of those books... [pointing to the one in question; it's down near the bottom]

If you can get it without collapsing anything, you're welcome to take it.

[Why is Toris even asking him? He can't actually do anything to anyone who wrecks the fort.]

"Guess your body's tellin' you that you already get enough sleep," Tiana quipped with a grin, looking at Caesar's fort with amusement. She wondered how the librarian would react once she found that her precious book collection was being used in such an...unorthodox way.

"You wouldn't happen to have any history textbooks on the McCarthy Era in this lil' castle of yours, wouldya?" she asked. There was an paper she still had to write, and the deadline was sneaking up on her...Same with a deadline for something else more socially-related.

"Also you didn't use all the teen magazines to build this, right?"

With abject horror and rage, no doubt. Caesar had already vowed to either be out of here by then or face that problem when it came crashing down on him like a ton of bricks.

"Which is weird. I have a terrible sleep pattern." So Caesar should have been able to doze off at any time. Though even without the sleeping part, he was a picture of laziness, with his chair balanced back on two legs and his boots swung up to rest on the table. Just lounging about. He waved a hand towards a wall, not bothering to look up from his book.

"Back wall, somewhere in the left-hand middle. I kept all the paranoid eras together." Then he scoffed. "Teen magazines make for shoddy building materials. All gloss, no substance."

wow this is late. D: Sorry! froggycharmer January 10 2011, 06:11:29 UTC
Tiana jokingly shook her head and clicked her tongue at him. While she was not impressed by this picture of laziness, it was Caesar. His brand of lazy had become endearing to her.

"You should consider workin' here. I'm sure the librarian's gonna love the way you organize things." She walked around the fort to the back and grabbed the book she needed, careful not to collapse the fort.

She rolled her eyes at the teen magazine comment. "That I can agree with. But I'm sure there's gotta be the occasional helpful or at least entertaining article in them."

"But then it would be work. Can you even imagine that, me, working?"

Caesar could and he didn't like where that road of thought goes. He turned another page in the book. "No, they really don't. I've browsed through one or two on a whim and I wouldn't suggest it to you."
