Alto had rushed to the infirmary the minute he had heard the news. But after being assured that the older man would live, his worry changed to anger, back to worry again. Taking the seat beside Gakupo's bed, Alto sighed and picked up the book he had borrowed on applying for a private pilot license in the States.

The least he could do now was to sit and wait until the man woke up. After that... well, he would decide what to do then.

It was still several hours before Gaku woke up, and even as he started to regain consciousness, he didn't move or make a noise for several minutes.

Slowly, though, he did stir, blinking his eyes open only to be blinded by the lights up above.

"Hng..." he grumbled hoarsely, closing his eyes again, completely unaware that anyone was even there. Hell, he hardly remembered what happened.

"Welcome to the world of the living," Alto greeted flatly, scarcely looking up from his book. Should he even let Gakupo explain what he did? Or was his foolish action too stupid to even deserve that?

"Living... wha..." Gaku managed, his voice thick from whatever medication he was on. He hurt, but it was a dull type of aching, and for a few seconds it didn't actually register what happened.

But he was able to lift his uninjured hand, then the one arm with the cast on it, tired, bleary eyes focusing on them before it finally dawned on him.

"... oh god damn it..."

It was probably in her best interests to wait until she'd calmed down some before going to see her Onii-sama. Her sobs had finally quieted to a point where she could breathe, much less talk, and she'd decided to go visit at that point.

Gumi still looked like a wreck, though. Not nearly as much as she imagined Gaku did, but her red, puffy eyes made it obvious that she'd been crying. Gumi poked her head in, breathing in deeply as she saw him in his bed, and then willed herself to walk into the room, pulling up a chair beside him and sitting down quietly.

This was so unlike her usual self ... for good reason, she thought.

Alto had left him to sleep before, but with a broken arm and an elevated broken leg, he pretty much looked exactly like he did when they brought him in.

This time, though, he noticed Gumi's entrance and slowly roused himself.

"Neechan..."

She felt her breath catch in her throat as he spoke, but she managed to talk.

Even if her voice was a little shaky.

"I'm here."

"Hey..." Gaku said, forcing a bit of a smile. His throat was dry, probably from the medication he was on, and sleeping rather than being unconscious had made him mentally fuzzier than he was before.

"'msorry... I didn't tell you I was going..."

This is Sheppard, sitting slumped in a chair by your bed with his arms crossed and an extremely cynical expression on his face as he waits for you to wake up again. He has no idea what actually happened, but he's pretty annoyed because he's guessing it was stupid and avoidable.

Stupid, yes. Avoidable? Depends on who you ask.

But at least he does eventually wake up.

"... do I even want to ask why you're glaring at me like an angry father?"

"Well, I was pretty sure we had the whole talk about... you not getting sick, not giving me more work to do." He gestures vaguely at your state. "What happened?"

Gaku wiggles the fingers on his arm with the cast. Ow. Not a pleasant feeling.

"... this counts as getting sick?" he grumbles. Yes, avoiding the question now.

It gets around when someone almost kicks the bucket. Information gets passed around loosely even when someone simply face-planted or more extremely... got in a car accident. The only thing the eavesdropper paid attention to was the victim. Gaku, he remembered, was someone he had to get reintroduced to twice. Ugh, his memory was a true embarrassment. So when the man managed to find his way back from town, get himself treated to an injury, he took another trip to the florist. Yes, Waka was a busy man, but he wouldn't limit himself to just his dormitory.

Plus, he felt bad forgetting who was last time.

"I'm hoping your aren't allergic to flowers?~"

Waka invited himself in with a bouquet of purple of purple verbena. There wasn't any special meaning to it, his just thought it matched his hair.

Gaku roused with a dry, kind of squeaky yawn, stretching as much as his aching injuries would let him.

"Mm... Waka. Hi. No, I'm not. Thank you," he said with a tired smile.

Noticing the yawn, Waka chuckled to himself quietly. Poor guy. Setting down the boutquet nearby, he calmly walked over, sure that he would appreciate not anymore excitement.

"Sorry, did I interrupt your rest?"

"Nah..." Gaku mumbled, shaking his head a bit. "All I can really do is sleep right now."
