Toris spent most of his time in the library, and today was no exception. He flipped through his textbook, sitting in a corner of the library amidst various textbooks and a few language books he'd finished with--he'd never had access to such things before, but now that he'd found himself with access to them, it had become a bit of a habit to pick up a few new languages each time he went to the library. Too many at once, though, made his head hurt, so he only read a couple a week.

Absorbed in his studying, the cursing and then slamming book startled him, and his own book slipped from the table, landing rather loudly on the ground.

"A-ah, sorry," he replied, automatically speaking German, as it was the last language he'd heard.

"Indeed it's not. Sometimes the ones that you trusted most in the world can turn around and hurt you as easily as though you were a stranger." Kyouya shook his head "It's a...cruel world that we live it."

Toris couldn't help but think of his brothers, back at home. Did they hate him for getting himself sent here?

"Not much to be done about it."

"No, there's not. The only thing we can do is grit our teeth and bear it until we get more powerful than them."
