Why do I hate the TSA and DHS?

Jan 05, 2009 07:41

This is one reason.

Bunch of under-achieving, power-mad bureaucrats who don't know their assess from their elbows. I hate these guys. What a (even more)worthless part of the government.

assholes, travel, tsa

Know when I knew without a doubt that the TSA would be worse than useless? That not only would the "Agency" not ensure any kind of safety on aircraft, but actually be a hindrance to air travel? When I worked on an ad for TSA staff at our local airport. GED okay, 35 hours/week, $7.75/hour to start. That's the requirement and compensation to be the front line of America's anti-terrorism defense.

I've said it before, there's nothing that the private sector can do well that our federal government can't royally fuck up by itself. And this is one of those instances.

I mean, I can't say I'm surprised. Most of the TSA's duties aren't exactly tasks that require a lot of specialized knowledge/training to execute, but even with that in mind, they constantly fail to do their fucking jobs properly. It's unbelievable. How many tests have the TSA failed in how many different airports now?

Come the revolution (in 15 days time) maybe the new Administration in the US will have a more welcoming approach to visitors to your great nation.

(hope that last bit doesn't sound like i'm trying to carry favour for my next visit incase the DHS are reading this)

Although i did find the people at BWI very welcoming.

I'll second this. I've been talking to my girlfriend about US airport security a whole lot recently. She has OCD and isn't too keen on having people going through her stuff, let alone having to take her shoes off at the airport.

Did you read some of the comments at the bottom? Makes me glad I travel FROM the US and pissed our country treats people this way. Sadly, I think they pull this BS with people like Aew because then no one can say they use profiling. Heaven forbid we use something that works to keep our country safe.

I hate to tell ya but Canadian Border officials are even ruder. I'd tell you about my foray to Canuckville via Greyhound, but its too long to go into, suffice it to say I've never been so humiliated in my life especially when the one Canuck bull dyke guard dumped my clothes all over the filthy floor and then said, you'll need to pick those up.
By the way, Pembina North Dakota is very very very cold during the winter (where I was stranded for 24 hours after being denied entry into the less than great white north)
