Liam has progressed so far in the last year that sometimes I fail to take into consideration his limits. Today was one of those days. It's been a week since my D&C. Everyone asks me how I'm doing, but I just can't give an accurate description. I wouldn't say I'm fine because, frankly, I keep forgetting I'm not pregnant. When we went in for our first ultrasound on Thursday, we'd been afraid of hearing or seeing more than one heartbeat. I can't believe I've become one of them.  Well, in all fairness, it's not just me.  biotechman75 is just as guilty.  Liam has an overabundance of gifts for his birthday and Christmas this year.  Like crazy overabundance that makes me embarrassed.  The thing is that most of his gifts are books and puzzles.

One of the things I'm learning is when is it appropriate to tell people Liam is on "the spectrum".  If you don't already know, "the spectrum" is the Autism Spectrum or ASD.  We don't have a formal diagnosis yet and that may be months down the road yet, but today we had another specialist (this time a speech pathologist with Easter Seals) tell us ( Read more... )
