Ivy had spotted the car from just around the corner. Naturally, that the place had gone into chaos wasn't unnoticed by the scrupulous plant lady. It was time to see what she could get her hands on. After all, she was a girl who always got what she wanted.

Red lips grinned, watching the Joker shattered the window for her. She said nothing as she stepped in the window, away that the sound of her stiletto heels had no doubt annouced her presence.

'Pammers' did nothing but place a hand firmly on a well-rounded hip. She grins, shaking her head at his comment. Schnoz...humph. She eyed him over carefully, ignoring the fact that there was something hidden behind his back.

"Aww, now don't be greedy. A woman like you has no time for so many accessories."

Gotham had been reduced to rubble. Everything: his old neighborhood, his shop, his apartment under a false name, was gone. There was nothing more to do now than follow the refugees to Metropolis. He had the clothes on his back, a few watches and other trinkets in his pocket, his clock king glasses (he was wearing his normal ones), and a walking stick that looked like a minute hand.

He made his way to the newstand using what little of his money to buy some decent literature. Perhaps the red cross had set up a station for the immigrants that he could stay for the night. Truly they weren't going to just dump him in this city and leave them to fend for themselves, were they?

He looked up when the stand owner spoke and looked at...what was that, red? Pink? Still, it didn't matter and it was no excuse to be rude. He looked at the paper, no reason for the blue light show and the timing was off for this to be a natural event. He looked back at the woman and in the awkwardness of the silence spoke.

"Good evening, miss."

Ace hadn't really planned on going anywhere in particular. After her brief time in Las Vegas, she traveled the country; there had been no real need for her to stay. King, Queen, Jack and Ten had all been done in by the Justice League, no doubt taken back to Section 12 (a high-tech facility in the middle of a desert, in the middle of nowhere) shortly afterward. She might have felt sorry for them, had they at least played with her from time to time. But no, all they cared about was trying to prove who was stronger than who, even though the answer to that question was all but obvious ( ... )

Red X had taken advantage of the chaos caused by the appearance of the barrier to sneak the painting out of the back. Unfortunately, he had to drop it when the police stormed after him. It would be too much trouble, and whatever the hell was going on with this blue light, it wasn't worth the painting. Throwing the painting a fair distance in the opposite direction, Red X used his teleportation device to quickly lose the officers in the blink of an eye.

Unfortunately, Red X would then appear a good forty yards away from Ace. His motion sensors in his mask's HUD picked up the swinging motion, causing him to quickly turn his head in her direction, the xenothium conduits primed to form shurikens. But... this girl... she was obviously a member of the Royal Flush Gang, from her outfit and hairpin. Last he had heard, they weren't exactly good guys. Red X instinctively crossed his arms, and snorted.

"Well, isn't this peachy. I expect to run into that panty-clad alien fuck, and here I find..." Who was she, anyway? He had heard of a girl of ( ... )

It seemed Ace hadn't notice him, as she continued swinging back and forth, her wide-eyes still gazing up at the sky. Maybe if she had been someone else, if she had been normal she would have attempted to flee this place like everyone. But she wasn't.

And she had felt him standing there.

Her feet sliding against the dirt patch at her feet, Ace finally stilled herself. She hadn't counted on someone actually stopping to stare at her curiously like he was. Not when everyone else seemed so concerned with other things at the moment.

"Did you come to play?" She asked, her eyes now locked onto Red X instead.

"Play?" Was that a euphemism for fight? But... no. She was a little girl. About the same age as him, but probably with one of those developmental things. Red X crossed his arms, one of his hands on his forehead. Well... it's not like he had anything better to do. And a member of the Royal Flush Gang wasn't likely to be the thief-turning-in type.

"Uh... yeah, sure. Whatever." Red X slowly walked up to her, his arms still crossed, completely taken off guard. What in the hell was she doing out here, when everyone else was going batshit fucking insane? He leaned up against one of the support beams for the swingset nonchalantly, unsure of what to make of this. He normally wasn't the babysitting type, but if this was really Ace... hell, it might even be worth the embarrassment.

Oh no you don't Red X! Raven had been in town, having spent the day helping evacuees from Gotham. It hadn't been easy work - people were scared, tired, angry. But Raven handled it. Just about.

Red X may have thought that he was alone with the security, but unlucky for him, Raven had already spied his movements. She wasn't a stupid girl, and figured that something might happen at the building tonight.

So far, she'd done a pretty good job of sneaking up behind him. In fact, she was close enough that if the air weren't so tense, he might have felt her breathing. She was ready for an attack, but then - the crash. Raven also lifted her head, narrowing her eyes at the sudden sounds of screaming. What the hell was going on?

Red X had been distracted, until his motion censors in his mask's HUD picked up motion directly behind him. Instinctively turning around to face his would-be attacker, his eyes fell upon the delectable body of Raven, one of the Teen Titans. "Well, well, look who decided to keep me company during the light show," Red X said mockingly, knowing that she would likely attack him at any minute. Cracking his neck somewhat, he fully expected her to do the "heroic" thing and attempt to take him on by herself, despite the fact that he had taken on all of the Titans at once and won.

"I wouldn't get so excited if I were you."

She felt stupid for a moment, realising the position that she's put herself in. Just her and him on a roof. Not great, considering everything that's been said and done. But there was no way she could just let him storm the place.

"Something tells me you're not here to...appreciate...the art."

"Actually, I'm here to help a few collectors get their hands on an otherwise not-for-sale piece of art," Red X said, shrugging. He then motioned to the big, blue dome surrounding the entire city. "But it looks like UPS won't be visiting Metropolis anytime soon. So why not skip the part where I leave you in a constricting restraint for your friends to find you, and let me exit stage left, hm?"

The night had been peaceful so far, other than the standard fare that was the birth right of any metropolis (Hah.) However, if one were wandering through Metropolis Park on this starry evening, they would be witness to an event that was beyond strange ( ... )

Beast Boy probably didn't realize how much research Brainy had done into this specific period of time since he had arrived into the future. Needless to say it was enough to know what the next crucial point of this crisis was going to be, which was why instead of Jump City, they would be arriving in Metropolis to stop the next wave. Hopefully before it got too out of control ( ... )

"Sometimes it's a little scary, how much you know Brainy." Not that he hadn't come to appreciate his friends talent for knowledge. Especially during his brief foray into the future. Brainy seemed to be the man with the plan, for lack of a better way of putting it.

"So...that thing isn't our fault then?" Beast Boy pointed up at the now formed dome, as if he thought Brainy might not know what he was talking about. "Experimental tech? Do you know what that is then?" 'cause BB certainly had no idea what was going on.

The Dome had barely fallen, when people started screaming bloody blue murder, the sound of thousands of citizens shouting at the top of their lungs was both impressive, and worrying. It reminded him a lot of their days in Gotham. Certainly a time he didn't want to be reminded of. "It sounds like the people are worried about this too, maybe we should look into it?" He had a knack for stating the obvious, that he did.

"I'm more concerned about this city turning out like Gotham did. Batman was absent, but surely the Justice League would have sent someone to your aide, Superman may have stepped in where he available. Considering how this is now three months later...There is something seriously wrong in this timeline."

And now for their mission. "We'll investigate the force field later, let's go find the Mayor and ensure his (or her) safety."

With that, he took to the air above and started heading for City Hall. It was a defensive measure, considering how easily Joker had taken over before, or then again, maybe not. It had occurred to him after the fact that Joker wasn't really who he claimed to be back in Gotham, especially when they found the robot in the City Hall.
