As a result of inappropriate comments made on my wife's LJ by individuals whose business it wasn't, attacking me and questioning my parenting, my familial role and my relationship with my children, I will be locking down all of my LJ posts, and not just commenting permissions, to "Friends only" so that those individuals and their ilk have one fewer ( Read more... )

This weekend, for the second year in a row, I attended Holly House's invitational event Grene Wode. It's a very laid back, relaxing weekend, with lots of song, laughter, informal workshops on weaving, live steel swordcraft and whatever else those there wished to teach or learn. Fucking Visa.

I got a call like 20 minutes ago - at 9:20 on a Saturday morning! - from fucking Visa, demanding, in a self-righteous and vaguely threatening tone, that I give them money and call back to "make arrangements" about how to pay the rest of what I owe them. So I got a call from Capital One today, offering me a new Mastercard, for which I was "already pre-approved" and which would enable me to rack up $6000 MORE debt at interest rates calculated on a lower plane of a particularly unpleasant underworld. That mess cost us over 4 hours of today. It doesn't get any more of my time; we've got way too much still to do.
