hey, so remember how in the series airbenders got their tattoos after mastering like 25 36 different airbending techniques and inventing one of their own, which is why it was so impressive that aang got his at only 12 years old? yeah, in the TLA movieverse, not so much.

( airbender tattoos apparently have nothing to do with airbending )

You know how part of the point of the Fire Nation's seeming impotence in the movie is that, according to M. Night himself, they can only use existing fire in their bending, right? And that the only way they can use their own chi is through Sozin's Comet, right?
