Because they look like the Majora's mask?

No, because they look like Skulltulas. You know, the spider things from Ocarina of Time.

I have one living in my lemon tree. I just went out to see him a few seconds ago, came in and this post was here!

I would gladly be back in Canada if it meant giving up: orb webs, huntsmen, wolf spiders, bird spiders, mouse spiders, white tips, redbacks and brown house spiders.

I hate spiders, they scare me...A LOT. I found a huge huntsman on my wall the other day. Smooshed him good. I was also bitten by either a white tip or a brown house spider and now I have a huge patch of something on my leg (I suppose it would be necrosis). Yup, I would like to be back in Canada with the harmless spiders for sure!

He is the only spider I can handle. I go out frequently to look at him because he's so cute. My husband calls them Christmas Spiders.

My arachnophobia is triggered by shape, and these here aren't the "right" shape for that. A friend once showed me a picture of an octopus in a spiderlike pose, and I screamed before I saw what it was in the first place. So, to my phobia, "these are not spiders".

I could go so far as to claim they're actually pretty... but I don't think I will. X)

The first time I saw one I screamed. But then I noticed how cool it was. I would never say they are pretty, but they are definitely very cool. In the end, though, to me they are still spiders and spiders are ook. It is interesting to hear about other people's arachnophobia though...I never thought about it being about shape, but I suppose it may be a little of that to me as well. I can deal with daddy long legs...I don't really like them, but I can deal. If they are fuzzy or have those tarantula type legs, or are bigger than a daddy longlegs...they have to die :(

i can totally see myself poking it and grinning and then screaming and running away, despite my hatred of spiders. it's so pretty.
