I have one living in my lemon tree. I just went out to see him a few seconds ago, came in and this post was here!

I would gladly be back in Canada if it meant giving up: orb webs, huntsmen, wolf spiders, bird spiders, mouse spiders, white tips, redbacks and brown house spiders.

I hate spiders, they scare me...A LOT. I found a huge huntsman on my wall the other day. Smooshed him good. I was also bitten by either a white tip or a brown house spider and now I have a huge patch of something on my leg (I suppose it would be necrosis). Yup, I would like to be back in Canada with the harmless spiders for sure!

I do not like blue ringed octopi, stone fish, bull sharks, crocodiles, just about every snake here (we have a tiger snake habitat in the town where I live *shudder*), meat ants, scorpions and galahs. Not that galahs are poisonous, they are just loud and wake me up every morning.

when we were down there (mostly to go diving), they had one of the worst box jellyfish seasons (irukanji? i think?) and we had to wear so much protection just to go out on the reef. and a bunch of people died. and do not want.

i love galahs, though. so cute. noisy, but cute. we had sulfur cockatoos that woke us up. that, and cicadas. again, one of the worst cicada seasons when we were there, too.

I love cockatoos, even if they are noisy.

Which part of Australia are you moving to?

i'll hopefully be working on heron island for a bit (if all goes well) but otherwise i'll probably just find somewhere along the gold coast. it's my absolute favorite place in the world.

Irukandji jellies, and probably marine stingers. Nasty fuckers, all. I did a post here about Irukandji.

We have wolf spiders in my part of Canada. Perhaps they are different from where you live.

When I lived on Hornby Island, my friend and I were watching TV in the dark one night when we heard "whooosh, THUD". We turned on the light and an enormous freaking wolf spider was there. Not as big as my hand, but lordy, it was NOT normal.
