And now I can not stop pacing
Give me a few hours, I’ll have all this sorted out
If my mind would just stop racing
Cuz I'm waiting for tonight
Then waiting for tomorrow
And I'm somewhere in between
What is real, and just a dream...Lj ate my last post the bastard ( Read more... )

I think it's a great and lovely idea. I would write now, find out what the situation is. And I would make it businesslike with just enough passion to let them know you're serious. Too impassioned and they might well up the price assuming that you want it so much that you'll pay anything. Or else I'd get someone with experience of housebuying/negotiating to write for you.

I would recommend waiting some more.

Your plan currently involves to many "hopefully"s. Plus, lots of financial analysts are predicting that the bottom will fall out of the housing market at some point in the future. A lot of homeowners want to keep house prices up, but they are progressively pricing new homeowners out of the market, and the situation has to go tits-up at some point.

New properties are more likely to devalue in the future rather than increase in value. Spending £200,000 on a house is less good if that house is then worth only 75% of that two years later.

What thankyoukindly said. You should wait until:
1) You know for a fact how much you have to spend on it.
2) You have a consortium ready to cover the rest.

By then, it is likely that the housing market situation will become more clear.

Also note that the Rusham Road house is unlikely to get sold in it's current state. I don't think you have to rush anything.

Finally, you may want to consider having somebody else send the letter of euquiry when it gets sent, in case you have concerns that you will not be taken seriously after your last attempt to enquire. Just an idea.

You should not be sectioned - it is a lovely idea. I think you should get the blueprints and see what they're like as then you will have a better idea of what you are realistically trying to buy. I would definitely go down the businesslike route - impassioned and they might not take you seriously. Money - I shall have to talk to you about that - thursday?
BTW: I couldn't get anime to work last night :( do you want to come over early and see if you can poke the computer with sticks into playing said anime?

Do you know why they haven't tried doing anything with the house yet?
I'm surprised they haven't joined the recent trend of knocking down the old
houses and building new ones...which I'm guessing that 300k+ house is one
of.
