Blizzards Race Change Question

I've done a race change before, going from Troll to Belf, and I can't for the life of me remember anything specific about it. My question is, since you get a re-customization included can I change gender? Or will I have to buy the re-customization as well? This makes me confused. On one hand it makes it sound like it's all included in a race change

When I race changed from Nelf to Tauren (when I was a Horde sympathiser, hurr) I was able to change my character's gender. Not sure but I think you may only be able to do that if you change faction, not race.

You can change gender when you change race. I changed my male Draenei shammy to a female Dwarf shammy. :)

I changed race two days ago (tauren to troll, finally my druid can RIDE out of Undercity!), and yes, you get a full re-customization, including gender.

On one hand, I do appreciate that our Tauren mounts scale. But why do I mostly play Tauren and Draenei neither of whom can ride through doors?

It happens to trolls too, namely in Undercity. Also nelves on talbuks trying to enter the IF bank. It has something to do with the mount size/height too.
