Today is VE day in France, that is the day victory was declared here in Europe in 1945. It is a Bank Holiday, one of France's many, and with the election of Macron there will be one more apparently

I am so happy for you, and relieved. After the election disasters in the UK and here in the US, I was nervous.

How gorgeous! That Purple Orchid is amazing - like a cross between a snakeshead fritillary and an orchid...

Everything is a bit late here, thanks to the cool dry spring, so it's lovely to see some orchids!
